Separate Playlist for Guardians after Going Flawless
What I am suggesting here is that characters who have gone flawless that weekend would be placed in a separate playlist from the normal trials playlist. This would only be per character per weekend. You can still do the bounties and the daily gold tier bounty just on a flawless playlist. This would still allow for competition against normally flawless players in the normal trials playlist but also allow for new guardians to experience the lighthouse by allowing for further competition against other guardians who haven't reached the lighthouse that weekend.
Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas? Suggestions?
Edit1: So I may not have made this clear, but what I am suggesting is that all players will play on the same playlist for trials until that character achieves flawless victory. I am simply stating that once that character goes flawless that weekend and they wish to continue playing that they play in a separate flawless playlist.
Edit2: Changed the title to better encompass the idea I'm trying to get across. People don't like long pieces of text.

The problem is, even if you like the idea (which I don't, as I feel it's not in the spirit of trials), it won't stop streamers or carriers. They can carry people and just not buy the boons, and people who farm elo can just delete the card and try again. It wouldn't solve anything, it would just promote the 'participation award' mentality in a game mode that promotes high level play to reap the rewards

Yeah I agree if you have been flawless that weekend you should not be in the general matchmaking pool This will give people a chance to go to the light house and more of a challenge for the flawless players who have already been

Great idea but the amount of cheaters will get mad. You just need aimbots and aimlocks to be a flawless pro player.

Yeah, I think changes are seriously needed. I loved Trials when it first came out, but now it is miserable to play.

This goes against everything that the spirit of TOO is supposed to be.

You do realize all they have to do is not buy boon while doing carried run their characters 7-1 if they get a lose. That would give the carry a 9-0 card and then their last 3 carries all they would do is then let their cards go to 9-0. There's always a way around the system.

10 RepliesI've never been to the lighthouse but I think getting there with your idea might diminish my feelings of elation. I would like to get there on my own. Not from a carry or from the elites moving to a different playlist. I want that "I've caught lightning in a bottle" feeling.

Also, on a weekly basis there is only about 400,000 or less people that make it to the lighthouse, assuming that that is mostly from playstation 4 and xbox one, that is not a very large matchmaking pool for those who have been there. Lag would be ridiculous, especially at the beginning of the week (and by that I mean Friday.) Also, players could just wait until Monday for an easy run. If you wanted to fix some of these problems by simply limited each player to one card per week, that causes even more problems.

People will tell you to git gud...these are the people that don't want to only play against flawless teams. I agree about the separate playlists. What I would like better is a complete trials overhaul. Get rid of boons and the mercy. Make the card 10 wins and one lose. If you win 10 matches overall, you go to the lighthouse. If you get to the lighthouse without the lose column filled, you will also report to Vance for a special reward. This would be the weekly trials flawless reward. Absolute flawless. This would include a shader, emblem or ship and an adapt weapon. This way, the uber PvP teams will get the absolute flawless rewards and look like special snowflakes, while the casual teams can grind out just 10 overall, and get to see mercury for a change. Problems solved.

13 RepliesThere have been so many posts like these, and I will give the same response. The identity of the Trials of Osiris is in its difficulty. It has a tournament structure that only permits a small number of competitors to win. This is by design. Only the best can finish. It is a brutal structure. But such is its nature. You cannot change it to suit the losers because it will no longer be the Trials. What you are proposing, as I have said many times before, is a completely different tournament system for a different playlist. You are proposing a tournament that has within it different leagues to separate the competitors based on their individual strengths. And that is fine. It is fair to all. And that is something good to propose. But it is not and will never be the Trials of Osiris. It is a completely different thing eith ranked playlists. That is what you need to ask for. Not to change Trials. What you're doing is akin to asking Bungie to change all the raids into horde modes. Which is not right. Raids aren't horde modes and they will never be horde modes. Instead for this example one should ask for horde modes directly. In the same way you should ask for ranked playlists.

10 Repliesi agree in a way coming up against carry after carry and going 8-1 t and 8-1 to teams who have already gone 9-0 is very frustrating however matchmaking would get even worse and everyone will just play monday when all the good players have gone flawless to try and get an easy run resulting in players who shouldn't be there on account of skill level getting there, it is supposed to be a challenge for hardcore PvP players not something everyone can do

Get a regular team & practice. Stop asking Bungie to make it easier for you; they won't. They changed the system to make it harder to go to the lighthouse because they don't want it to be something everyone can achieve. Suggestions? If you want the lighthouse to be more accessible to the general community (presumably for grimoire?), then the rewards need to change. The regular lighthouse should give regular drops, & the "double flawless" lighthouse should drop the pariah-level gear.

24 RepliesNo. This makes no sense. If I log in on Friday and go flawless, I'm excluded from playing with my friends for the whole weekend? They may not even get on until Sunday. So my options would be to wait to play? Everyone who is in favor of this dumb ass idea should just be honest when they post on LFG that they need a carry. There's dozens of high ELO level players that are looking to do a carry in hopes of gaining ELO for themselves. Personally, I do single and double carries and often post on the lfg looking for people who have never been flawless. I've gotten at least 20 people flawless in the past 3 weeks who've never been to the lighthouse. If you need that much help that you have to go and make a thread begging for a separate playlist or you agree with the original post just send me a friend request on PS4.

5 RepliesThis is just another time where some people get emotional when they lose and try to think of some way to help them win. All this will do is make things worse and more complicated with very little benefit to anyone considering how easily this would be to work around. It's like the people who said take away special ammo at the beginning of the match thought it would change anything. Then people just used ice breaker and invective. It fixed nothing and just made the game worse. Now you lose all your ammo if you switch special wespons, even if you are dead. And people that help others go flawless could just not buy boons, or have a 2nd account, or play on the person's account who is wanting flawless. Etc, etc. Very easy. Everyone that is for this should really evaluate their thinking process and see if they are just going on emotions rather than using some common sense. I imagine they are probably doing this for many things in their life.
