The "Years" have nothing to do with Destiny. That shows how long you have had your Bungie.net account. Your current Bungie.net account was created on October 30, 2014.
From October 30, 2014 - October 30, 2015, you would have 0 years.
From October 30, 2015 - October 30, 2016, you will have 1 year.
From October 30, 2016 - October 30, 2017, you will have 2 years.
And so on.
