Toland is winning? Hah! Both were great people, but Osiris is better no question. Toland was an obsessed madman that risked six lives just to find out if he was right. The only reason we see that as acceptable behavior is because he was right. Think about it like Toland was saying "the Earth is flat" and then doing what he did to find out. Its ridiculous. Osiris found revelation after revelation about everything, including the Hive. Where Toland only brought us insight into the Bargain and motives of the Hive, Osiris told us about Crota and Oryx before the Vanguard lost a bunch of guardians on the Moon. Osiris did a lot more than that, though. Through him we know Guardians can't be simulated by Vex, the Nine are weak when they touch our world, ect, and a lot more about thanonautics, Vex, and the Darkness. Not only that, but he inspired Kabr to go to the Vault and Warlocks to study the Darkness (and work to stop it). More importantly, Osiris is still doing stuff. After he entered the Vex Gate Network and observed the patterns, Osiris teamed up with the Queen and Eris to stop Skolas, bait and kill Oryx, and hone guardians for what the Darkness brings next. It even seems he is the next main quest giver for Destiny 2.

  • Let's not forget Toland seems to have outlived his usefulness and appears to covet the power of the Taken King. That's a disaster waiting to happen.

Yea. He transfers over to the throne world and his writing shifts to much more respect and appreciation than understanding. Makes you wonder what half he got wrong

  • I'm really hoping we get to interact with the leader of the SunBreaker's who guard Osiris. She is rumored to be the strongest Titan alive.

  • The sunbreakers dont guard osiris in the story mission to attain the hammer of sol osiris sent his minions to try to steal it.

  • Why would they try to steel it if the are already SunBreaker's? Also, they do guard Osiris.

  • When i went through the missions it showed a bunch of dead disciples of osiris but not sunbreakers maybe i misinterpreted it but im fairly sure that osiris was tracking them down to steal the power of the hammer of sol that only true sunbreakers (titans who live out in the wilds) wield.

  • https://youtu.be/XO7mpT7F_sY 1:40-1:50 a sunbreaker sounds like shes in a firefight and it doesnt sound like shes happy about osiris later you find some titans dressed in what looks like trials gear. Later in the video it explains that osiris cut a deal with the sunbreakers and the city so maybe your right after all mercury is where osiris's cult resides.

Whatchu talking about fam'? Is that grimoire or Destiny 2 leaks? Plz link. Speaking of the Mercury hype. Osiris is awesome for sure, but we still don't know what happened to Saint-14 when he went to Mercury. Also, Efrideet appears in Rise of Iron after an extended stay with "a group that uses the Light for more than comabt." Which I can only assume is Osiris. That brings us a Warlock, Titan, and Hunter to champion our guardians whenever Mercury Social Space opens up!

  • I'm talking about in the SunBreaker story mission where a female Titan who leads the SunBreaker's is extremely powerful. Also, give a spoiler warning next time please, been trying to avoid Rise of Iron stuff so I can enjoy it more.

  • Found it. Ouros is her name. Potentially the most poweful Titan alive today. Nice, and thanks. My headset had audio problems when I did that part.

Speaking of Titans, I really wonder what happened to Saint-14. Ouros and Saint both have their last known locations as Mercury with Osiris (Titan powerhouse going on in Mercury!)
"I am the Crucible."
• Last we know of Saint-14 he was going to Mercury to find Osiris. What I'm guessing is that Saint did eventually meet up with Osiris and might be helping lead the SunBreaker's who guard Osiris. He is a a very skilled Titan after all. Just a thought.

Yea. Obviously he met Osiris and stuff went down. The question is whether Saint-14 is now dead or if Osiris had gotten through to him and now they work together. I think the best guess for Saint-14 "awakening" to Osiris's side is the vision that the New Monarchy Exo got in The Lighthouse grimoire. Something similar would happen once he stepped foot on Mercury.

Do you mean that a vision showed him that Osiris's theorys and marks aren't madness?

Awakening thing: Saint-14 is a blind knight. A Crusader. He treats the Light like a religion and follows the Speaker word for word. I say "awakening" because, for him to join Osiris, he needs to see the light and realize his perception of the Light is not the full story. The Vision thing: Saint never had a vision. I'm saying Exos on Mercury get a feeling about themselves (Awoken, Human, and Ghost also have one). A flawless fireteam was invited to get some sweet loot (mirroring what the player does) and all of them were from New Monarchy. Osiris has two literal visions in the grimoire. Here are their descriptions of the feeling (Lighthouse Grimoire)
We inspected the carvings and trinkets left by the Osiris cultists. All of us began to depart from ordinary experience. My Exo teammate described the sense that she was buried beneath an enormous, operating mass— locked up in a tiny crevasse at the bottom of a labyrinth or mechanism. My Awoken teammate felt an ongoing sense of deja vu: her actions were precessed by an infinite echo, an anticipation of all her choices. She became volatile and erratic. She insisted that we were surrounded. I remember a low ringing sound and a sense of numb filth, like gravel rubbed into a wound. I experienced a sense of immanence, as if I was bleeding into the world around me. It was uncomfortable and profoundly alienating. I perceived all my actions as determined and inevitable. My Ghost commented that the Traveler had made something of this world, and then Vex had eaten that something. We gathered the treasure left for us and departed as quickly as we could.
• Ah, I know of the Visions but totally forgot about reading the Light house card. I understand now, that is probably what ended up happening. It would make sense for Saint to have tracked Osiris to Mercury, experience a vision and see the world without tinted glasses on. I wonder if a Titan could even assist Osiris in his work, being that they are meant to be towers of muscle and power.

  • Titans are smart, they just apply it to combat for the City. Take away the combat and the City and you're looking at a unique chance for a Titan.

  • Point taken. I wasn't calling Titans dumb, they're smart in a lot of situations. Just that, they may not be able to handle the complexity of that a Warlock can.
