WAIT!!! DON'T COMMENT YET!
I'm not saying this so we can have more blood.
I'm not saying this so we can have in game sex.
I'm saying this so we can make the enemies as evil as they are in the lore. Example, the Hive lore wise are the most terrifying things ever. The light being ripped like skin from a guardian or being knifed by a weapon made from a ghost is scary as hell AND ALL IN THE GRIMOIRE. But because of the T rating we will never see the Hive as more than "They came from the moon and did all this spooky stuff off game."
The more evil the enemy, the sweeter it is to kill them. Its basic writing really, build up your antagonist instead of just shoving them in your face. The Taken King kinda did this with Oryx in the intro cutscene but have you guys read the book of sorrows? YIKES.

Edit: Okay l hear a lot of people arguing less people would play the game if it was M but do you think Bungie (Made Halo and the angry 12 year old) and Activision (Made COD and perfected the angry 12 year old) care about an M rating?
-
Nah, you can still get away with the enemies being extremely evil and keep the game T. Ever play the infamous games? In the first one there's suicide bombers that try to kill you, that game's still T

I would love a more mature tale. On Destiny for the second game! Not sure why people are saying that an m rating would cause a lot of player loss as I don't think that would necessarily be the case. I wouldn't reccoment going overboard, but I do think that adding some darker or more mature content would (if done right) allow bungie to make their story more compelling, and their characters more developed. As it stands, the story isn't really interesting or compelling enough to really draw you in or make you care about the story or why your doing what your doing. The characters are pretty much completely one dimensional in game. I think the freedom of a m rating would allow the writers of Destiny to do more for the next game
-
Only if it makes sense, things dont need to be more gory and darker just for sake of it, im cool with destiny goin mature, but only if it enhances the story and tone of the universe
-
Honestly they have some room with T ratings look at batman Arkham asylum and Arkham city those games maintained a T rating but they didn't shy away from so dark and twisted themes
-
No because then destiny is gonna lose a lot of people
-
As long as I get my Mara Sov sex scene, I'm satisfied.
-
no M rating pl0x. I won't play if it is M. No, I am not 7 or whatever, I am 15. I just don't play games that are too bloody or have a lot of gore, or anything. Sex and drugs and alcohol don't make a game better, and sometimes make them worse because you can explain a lot of things with those instead of a well thought plot line.
-
that wont work for their business, too many kids in this game, they would loose so much money
-
I think destiny does a good job being mature while being rated T, honestly what could they really add that would make it m that wouldn't feel ham fisted? Or edgy for the sake of being edgy, and plus I like that destinys rating allows a large age difference to play. I don't think a game being rated M immediately means it's more mature or dark, heck Arkham asylum was t and that game was pretty intense
-
Less people wouldn't play if it was M. It was rated T to get a bigger audience hence more money. There have been other M games that have been huge successful hits
-
-
Or at least not shown directly but they should do the thing where we see the shadow of what is happening and it would be of those things but we wont see any of the blood and gore Just having that would be nice
-
No just no.
-
I'm not a fan of gore and sex. I'm not a fan of censored story. Let's go M.
-
More boobs
-
Don't care about age rating, if its not VR compatable its going to be old hat ass 😂
-
A higher rating means more creative freedom, which I'm 100% down for.

Edited by BigheadedJedi: 8/21/2016 8:58:35 AMHalo, Elder Scrolls series, Fallout series...all highly successful and profitable M rated franchises with deep stories and lore, in part, because the writers were not leashed to "PG" themes and limitations. If the game were a direct reflection of the lore the narrative would be dramatic and amazing...and it might get rid of most of the "squeakers"! 😋
-
M Rated please.
-
Assassinations? Yes please. Although Halo 5 does those and it's rated T so NO EXCUSES BUNGIE!!! NONE!
-
GTA and Cod are some of the best selling games of all time so
-
-
You are right. Because now it looks like they want to kill us because... In the black garden we woke the vex from their sleep. In the first moon mission we awoken the hive from their sleep. In the fist mars mission we broke into a cabal base.

Next time, consider comma usage. #CommaLivesMatter

If it means bungie shows us how terrifying all of whats happening is rather than "i could tell you". Showing is better than telling when it comes to story. The phrase "a picture paints a thousand words" comes to mind. We dont need sex and stuff added but if it means we get shown the true extent of the damage inflicted by the darkness and all that then yes im onboard. It all comes down to can they tell the story better with that rating.

An m rating won't help the in game story
