How is lighting grenade over powered?

It is literally one of the most visible grenade in the game. I see people complain about trip mine being seen easily, yet nobody types a thing about the lighting grenade. It can be shot so it stops like trip mine, yet it is only typed about on trip mine buff posts.

    It doesn't matter how well you can see it. If you're in a gun fight and carelessly back up the Lightning can easily kill you. The problem with lightning grenade is how long it lasts and how huge its cone is. It easily takes out people regardless if it can be seen or shot. There's no argument that lightning grenade is one of the best grenades in the game right now.

    • the real op one is suppressor grenade works like a shadow shot without the kill if you mange to hit the opponent you basically canceled their super and all abilities have fun watching them trying to double jump away in the confusion

    • I remember back in the day lightning grenades were [i]devastating[/i]. I mean back in the first few months of the game. I used to terrorize people with those things.

    • It's the AoE animation that is the problem. It's not the grenade itself. Imagine if you went to jump over a Void Wall grenade, but the flames were actually higher than what the animation shows. That's the only issue people have with the Lightning Grenade.

      • I don't have any problems with lightning grenade . It's easy to spot and avoid. I just wish the trip mine was back as a tripmine :(

        • It's a good grenade, but not OP. The only OP thing is the visuals. It's stupid. Either reduce the range, or improve the visuals. It shouldn't show a straight line smaller than a trip mine but then explode twice as far and four times as wide.

        • My problem is that it doesn't telegraph it's AoE very well. And its horizontal range is a little deceptive.

        • Look man I love Lightning grenades but they are cheap. Most range aside from Axion bokt and voidwall. Most DPS, 140+ per pulse. The visible arcs don't correspond with where you will get hit by it from. It hits from the side of it even though it never arcs to the side. Etc. Etc. I'm all for NOT nerfing it because any nerf to it would make it useless. Now fixing the visible effects to show where exactly you will be damaged, that's something that should be done.

          • When thrown, it disappears into the floor. If it hits a flat wall, it embeds itself parallel to the wall, exploding in towards nothing. Players that actually look at it stay away and take no damage. You can Insta kill yourself with it. You have to actual plan where you throw it because it doesn't track you all around the map like some other grenades I know of.

              • It pulses way to long even without the perk to increases the pulses. The damage cone is to big. I went up against a team of 3 Titans in trials all wearing armimterium and running double lightening. 6 god damn lightening grenades. We got destroyed

              • i think im doing it wrong the amount of times ive thrown one and it hits the wall directly in front of me and i get killed by the architects... is beyond embarrassing..

                  • Yeah, you can see it, but the problem doesn't lie in what you can see, the problem lies in what you can't. It's not a linear grenade, it has a very wide cone of effect, but the grenade displays a very narrow effective cone. That's the issue. If they made is so that it properly displayed where the grenade is effective, that would literally solve the issue.

                    • It's not the damage. It's the range. The visual effect of the grenade itself is much smaller than the actual range of it. You can look like you aren't near it and it still does damage. Is it OP? Meh, not really OP but it could use a bit of a range redesign if you will.

                    • Lightning grenades just need an animation that more definitively displays its range of effect. Maybe that range could be nerfed a bit as well but I'd really just like to know if I'm out of its radius.

                    • I got no issues with the damage or even the duration. But the cone of effect / aoe (width, not length) has to be slightly reduced.

                      • No problem with the damage or even how much area it covers, but it seems like it covers more area than the animation shows. It makes it really hard to gauge what is safe.
