This game has been severely limited in what it can do because it has been pushing last-gen consoles to their absolute limits, because of the lack of memory. Bungie didn't want to say that directly, because they didn't want to alienate the customers who were playing the game on those platforms. But a PS3 can have as little as 1/32 the RAM as an off-the shelf PS4 (256 MB vs 8 GB). ...and you can't get a four cylinder Honda with 200 HP to do what a 12 cylinder 1000 HP race car can do. Its simply not possible. Now that Bungie has officially dropped support for last gen----they'll have a free-er hand in making changes to the game. Especially if----as I suspect----they are also taking this time to re-write the game engine to make it easier to work with, and allow for faster editing for Destiny 2.

  • *hooks nitrous to the ps3. Hits the power button and watches it shoot through the wall* Wooooooo! Lol. I am glad they dropped last gen. Though it sucks for last gen players.

  • It does. But it had to happen. The last gen platforms are obsolete. My first gaming PC from 20 years ago had 512MB of RAM. You simply can't make games to a AAA standard in 2016 that has to run on a machine with only half that amount of memory. Kudos to Bungie for carrying last-gen this long....but this divorce had to happen.

Not saying it shouldn't have been done. Just saying I feel bad for the folks who won't be able to upgrade for a while. My first computer was an Apple II e. Ran everything off floppy disks. Kinda feels like Iron Banner runs off of Apple II es.

  • I know...and I'm simply agreeing. I'm not so old that I don't remember what it's like to be a kid who wants something, and his family can't give it to him. But...just trying to explain to anyone in that situation who might be reading this, that Bungie isn't doing this to be mean. They're doing it because the last-gen platforms just can't support a game of this size and complexity going forward. Microsoft no longer even makes the XB360 anymore, and I'm sure Sony is going to soon follow with the PS3.
