I suppose the reaction is down to the point in time when you joined destiny. Why wouldn't you have this reaction if they are selling the base destiny game, dark,house and the taken king with the rise of iron? Have all this content for 40.00 which would probably be 60.00 in the UK just for the kicks of it. If you have never played destiny and only just seen this then yeah I'd understand your reaction.
