Dear Snipers: Thank You
Thank you for making this game even more boring. Thank you for showing us that year 2 PVP is actually worse than year 1.
Back in the day Suros Regime and Vex Mythoclast would freak you out but at least you could do something with Shadow Price. Then shotguns and hand cannons came along. It was quick paced and fun. Now? Just people playing far away with snipers and scouts competing on who is the best at hide and seek.
I understand this is what most PVP streamers play (cant believe people actually spend time watching others play video games and even give them money for it but w/e). But really, you have shifted this game to one that is not dynamic at all. There is no relevant nor entertaining PVE content so we have to rely in constant, long and boring PVP events.
I have my vault full of exotic weapons that can easily be countered by any Hawkshaw or any idiotic fast-paced purple weapon in the meta. Whats the point of giving us new exotics if they are going to sit in the vault? Decoration? Epeen?
I don't mind if this game becomes a primarily PVP game. I really don't. Just let the community know so I can decide not to pursue a DLC or Destiny 2.

1 ReplyYeah I know my gameplay has definitely changed from what it used to be. Now, I'm always hesitant to run in any open area. I'm always checking around corners and scanning the distance for those stupid hard scoping campers that so love to snipe in every bloody map. It is annoying. I can't feel free to engage an enemy close by because countless times I'll get him almost dead only to be picked off by a body shot from someone in the back of try map. It is annoying. I very much miss what crucible used to be like. No games ever went till the time ran out :/

1 ReplyI swear this community can't make up its damn mine. In year 1 everyone was bitching about shotguns and thorns and praised snipers because they took more skill. Now everyone is bitching about snipers but praising shotguns because it take smore "map knowledge". Seriously make up your mine.

My point is everyone what's to complain sniping makes the game slow....not sure what game your playing but just bc someone is sniping does not make the game slow for me...I'm not trying to out snipe people most of the time so I'm generally rushing and it gets me licking my lips knowing I'm about to go right in after 3 or 4 snipers all looking down their scopes. I freaking love it. I generally would feel that people who start these post can't be snipers, hell you're talking shit about how slow the game is bc of snipers; but you can't be shotgunners either bc the game isn't slow for them, so what are you? Fusion? Sidearm? Who cares. Point is the game speed is what you make it. Sure if you are scared shitless of getting sniped then I bet it sucks. But who cares, it's a game, if you are a shot gunner, RUSH. Game is what you make it.

What Bungie needs to do is introduce a Shotty/Snipers game mode. I can't believe Bungie, the people who created the Halo MP have such little creative game modes in Destiny.

7 RepliesSnipers in general are boring. Aim shoot and it's done. No calculations No risk other than loosing a bullet or being sniped and getting backed up by the rest of the snipers. I want battlefield sniping or sniping that is hard. NLB is easy if you get use to the scope.

Netflix is amazing when the flow of a PvP match isn't to exciting. Was watching The Office while flanking people with Invisible shotgun because all they did was camp in the back and my team kept getting farmed :(.

I've had to unsub all Destiny youtubers because all they do is snipe. It was entertaining to watch the first time but after that it got really boring. Especially since Bungie puts 50's (the youtuber) against people with half their skill at best.

I want the old PvP back were everyone used something different instead of the same boring shit. Snipers there snipers here. We're are the primary guns? Am I the only one who uses different guns to try different play styles?

If you try to run straight at someone you're going to get pounded. You can still use shotguns competitively (the number of people using the universal remote in iron banner is proof enough) just don't expect to run blindly with one and automatically do good. If you see a sniper don't just run straight at him and rage when (surprise surprise) he domes you. You can own the close range. Use that. Flank people.

I didn't read everything. Just the first line. This is what bungie and snipers don't get. It's not that they're over powered. They are way too overused, especially in trials. Yes I see a lot of shotguns too. But not in trials. It just makes the gane boring as -blam!-. The close quarter combat is so limited. Unsatisfying

You can't blame the community. If there's a gun type that is strong there will always be people who use it. And how else are people going to use snipers than passively?
