Chapter 7

Chapter 7. Something that can’t be saved. Disclaimer. Bungie owns everything, places, races, characters, and everything else. I only own the story and plot. Side note, I’ve got nothing against Cayde-6. This is only for the plot of the story to continue. I <3 you Cayde. (No homo). *Zack, Hanging Crypt, Dreadnaught* “So what do you want us to do with him?” Deathblade asked, glancing over at Cayde for a brief second. “Put him in the Sunless Cell for a couple of weeks. See what happens, and before I forget.” I remembered, “You won’t be needing this.” I said snatching Cayde’s ghost. “Don’t want you going anywhere. The Sunless Cell has been pretty void and is in need of a new owner.” Cynthia pointed out, kicking our old mentor into the inescapable pit. “So what now.” Deathblade asked. “Track them down. Make sure that it looks believable for the rest of the team. Make them know the true meaning of fear.” I ordered as my lieutenants began to head to the Trenchway. ‘How this plays out is completely up to them now.’ I thought to myself walking up the bridge that connected this one single cell to the rest of the dreadnaught. *Cynthia, Threshold, Dreadnaught* “You ready to make some noise?” I asked Deathblade, ‘Seriously, that is an incredibly stupid name. But it’s what he likes to be called.’ I thought as we rushed from the Court of Oryx to the path leading to the most exterior part of the dreadnaught. “Ready as I’ll ever be.” He answered bearing his Touch of Malice. “You know that’ll kill you when you hit the last bullet, right?” I pointed out the guns’ major strength and flaw. “I’m aware of that.” He answered while I was bringing my Questing Beast to the ready. “Well, all I can say is. Have fun, and kill well.” I cheered, letting a little bit of my sanity slip. “You gotta run, they’re coming, like right now.” I heard our double agent Thunder-256 warn the rest of Zack’s team. “It’s a little too late for that now.” I shouted, warning them of our presence, not that it really mattered. “There’s more!?” One of the warlocks facing us groaned. “Um, excuse me, but ‘they’ have ears you know.” I shouted switching from my questing beast to murmur, which I dubbed as Marth, and fired a scattershot of solar fusion bolts. “Why does it always seem like that there are always more and more of them?” Their titan shouted as he dived behind one of the may columns in the Trenchway. ‘Huh, now I know why it’s called that.’ I thought, just now figuring out why it’s called that. “Hey. If you’re done being in wonderland, I suggest that you get over here before you’re full of holes!” Deathblade shouted, snapping me back to reality. “Right, on it.” I squealed ducking, diving, dipping, and dodging bullets left and right. “So, how are we going to make this look convincing?” Was the first thing he asked. “I thought you knew the plan.” I shouted, tossing a vortex grenade. “Well excuse me for not planning ahead.” He mocked. “Wait, don’t we have a whole army of taken beings at our disposal?” I asked, just now realizing that. “I’ll distract them. You get our friends to help us.” I ordered, “And what exactly are you planning on doing?” He asked, “Something stupid.” I shouted firing off a black hole shadow shot. What came next was a sight to behold, total and utter mass destruction. Taken centurions, phalanxes, and psions multiplying by the second. The destruction was truly a sight to behold. “We have to retreat. NOW!” Thunder shouted at the titan and warlocks. “We can handle it.” I heard one of the warlocks’ protest, “No, you most certainly cannot!” He shouted again, clearly hinting at us to advance. “But…” She began again, “We’ll comeback for them. Right now, we need to warn the Vanguard about this.” He barked, making them retreat to their ships and take off. “That was good.” Deathblade walked up to him. “Congratulations, you passed the test.” I laughed hysterically. “Now, you might want to catch up to the rest of them before they suspect something.” I shooed him. *Zack, Threshold, Dreadnaught* “We got the signal hijack system ready?” I asked Josh, “Yep. Just say the word and you’re broadcasting to all channels.” He informed, “Good. I’m ready.” I smiled, my helmet is off so all of the tower knows who they’re dealing with. “And. Rolling.” Josh told me. *Jessie, Medical Wing, Tower* “I hate being stuck here. There is nothing to do but walk around wing, they won’t even let me out just to get some fresh air in the plaza.” I sighed, “Well until you’re better. You might as well get cozy.” Ikora said walking in my room. “Let’s at least see who’s winning today’s Iron Banner match up.” She said turning on the T.V. in my room. Before we could see who was winning the game, the signal was lost. “Well, that’s different.” We said in unison, “Wait, something’s coming through.” I told her. “Hello everyone, sorry for interrupting your regular broadcast of whatever you’re watching. But I’ve got a very ‘Special’ announcement.” A heavily distorted voice greeted, ‘What does HE want now.’ I thought, completely pissed that he shot me in the head a few nights ago. “Some of you may know me, some of you may not. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zack Anderson, and I am the Taken King.” He announced, already knowing this it wasn’t as much of a shock. However, the rest of the tower and the entire city might react differently. “And I’ve got someone special here with me tonight.” He said, snapping his fingers a cloud of darkness appeared for a brief second. “He’s important for the Vanguard, and every Hunter looks up to him. The one and quite literally only, Cayde-6.” He cheered as he introduced his hostage. “Isn’t this nice. Sad thing is, we’re missing his friends. Commander Zavala and Ikora Rey. I’d come there myself, but all you guardians listening would shoot me on sight, so that got me thinking. ‘What if I did this?’ and look how well it’s going so far. Nobody has shot at me for the past five minutes, and I’m still here. Now, if you guardians want your precious Cayde-6 back. You’ve got two options.” He paused. ‘Why do I feel like I already know what they are.’ I thought. “Option number one. You give me Zavala and Ikora and we can all live happily ever after.” He paused again, “Option number two. Six people can lead a raid team to try and take me down. But I must warn you, if you do send a raid team. I’ll already know about it and have guns hot and ready to blow them up before they even get close to the dreadnaught. Giving me a turn to destroy your precious city and your DEAD GOD.” He said, everything about him suddenly turning dark. “You’ve got 72 hours to decide your fate. Either come alone or be destroyed.” He growled, ending the transmission. “Did anyone get that frequency?!” Ikora shouted down the hall, running out of my room. “Zack, what happened to you?” I sobbed, tears beginning to steam down my face. Here is the seventh installment of FEL. Enjoy, and until then. I bid you, adieu
