Secret mega-weapons in our system.

So today I'd like to inform you on something you might have never noticed before. Three possible secret mega-weapons of unknown origin. One of these three might tie with a piece of exotic armor. Let's begin. "what are these weapons and where do I find them!" I hear you yelling. They are: The anomaly - An odd site that generates intense electromagnetic fluctuations. Located on the moon and is constantly chased after by the hive. Station A-113 - a mysterious station out in the reef that houses an "eye" and "keyholes". Discovered by a dead orbit crew that got shot down by awoken patrols. the lighthouse - the infamous site you go to when you go flawless. Located on Mercury and believed to be a camp of the cultists of Osiris. What's so special about these sites? They do damage. With prolonged exposure to the anomaly, some guardians had to be hospitalized for insomnia (which is habitual sleeplessness; inability to sleep.) Something in station A-113 can cause insanity. Upon inspecting the station, the dead orbit team went mad. When a new monarchy team went to inspect the lighthouse, (which they were invited to oddly enough), they immediately felt like they were being watched. Moments into the search:
My Awoken teammate felt an ongoing sense of deja vu: her actions were precessed by an infinite echo, an anticipation of all her choices. She became volatile and erratic. She insisted that we were surrounded.
The site seemed to be causing paranoia. So what? Why would they be connected? These seem unique in terms of weapons as they are basically attacking the target's sanity. It's also odd because you'd think if these belonged to a enemy we knew they'd be using it more often on us. You'd also think that the enemies we know wouldn't let such powerful weapons just slip away. My best conclusion is that these are a few of the "relics of darkness" that were "left behind". Now about how one ties to an exotic we have. The Anomaly and the impossible machines:
"The dead come for these, but the dead should not have them." —Crumpled note pinned in the clasp
I believe "the dead" is referring to the hive as hive are often referred to as dead and are involved in necromancy. At least one machine could be the anomaly as these gauntlets are arc related and the anomaly is an intense electromagnetic storm. Now we are left with a few questions. How many "machines" are there? Are they the other weapons I mentioned up top? Are more anomalies? Where are they? Questions, for another day. Until then, keep asking questions. Edit: feel the need to elaborate on the impossible machines. Yes I know we are technically dead but we are rarely referred to as "dead". We are called thieves, guardians, light, but rarely dead. The hive are more commonly referred to as "dead".
back to master thread: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/205238605/0/0
cheers :D

Was reading Skolas: Defeated and came across the following. The woman is Petra.
Variks holds up the amethyst in his bleeding hand. It's a Reef gem. "I wound myself," he says, "to make this more beautiful." She stares into the gem with a distant Awoken eye. What does she see? Variks knows she has visions and he knows those visions haunt her, drive her. The Awoken are twinned to powers that terrify Variks.
The eye jumped out at me. Maybe A-113 had something to do with what happened to the Awoken. Probably not connected though.

            • I'm pretty sure bungie already stated there isn't an secret info in any of destiny. The grim was writing last minute before release as a scrabble to make a story. This is what we know as fact, everything else is wishful thinking. Good post though. Interesting for sure.

              • I believe the Impossible machines have a larger relation to the guardians, as the guardians are the dead, risen from the grave. Warlocks were not supposed to have them.

              • We're the dead referenced by the note because we are not truly alive because we can die and respawned again which means we are between both worlds of the living and the dead.

I disagree with you. I don't think that these objects are linked to the Darkness as much as they are to other mysteries which we haven't delved into in terms of the lore. Also, I believe "the dead" on the impossible machines refers to the Guardians because we should technically be dead but due to the powers of the Traveler and Ghosts, we aren't. We're pretty much space zombies. Another speculation on what the Lighthouse is: The Lighthouse could be causing mass deja vu due to mercury being turned into a machine planet by the Vex. Now, the Vex play a part in this because they can simulate multiple realities in their mind cores. If they can do that, then it's possible that they channeled that sort of simulation power into mercury.

                    • Let's just take our enemies and imprision them in these locations until they go mad. Who said psychological warfare had to be used against just humans?

A-113 has always confused me. But I think A-113 is gone. ... You got Ghost Fragment: Dead Orbit telling us A-113 is in orbit around Ceres: http://db.destinytracker.com/grimoire/allies/city-factions/ghost-fragment-dead-orbit Then Ghost Fragment: Fallen 4 tells us the Awoken Queen is coming to conquer Ceres: http://db.destinytracker.com/grimoire/enemies/fallen/ghost-fragment-fallen-4 and she calls on Harbingers. Then WANTED: Skolas, Kell of Kells says the Harbingers destroyed the asteroid: http://db.destinytracker.com/grimoire/enemies/fallen-hunted/wanted-skolas-kell-of-kells ... So I got really excited about learning more about A-113 and I still want to know what it was but I believe it's been destroyed and I'm not sure if it will end up being significant in the story. Also curious about The Anomaly so let me know if you learn more, but I'm not sure it's, "constantly chased after by the Hive." The only place I've seen The Anomaly discussed: http://db.destinytracker.com/grimoire/activities/crucible-arenas/the-anomaly says the Hive will inevitably come in search of it (and this now becomes my interpretation) since it's a unique and powerful SOMETHING on the moon where they live. It doesn't seem to state or imply the Hive have knowledge of it we don't, are seeking to use it, or are connected to it in any other way

                        • In regards to the Lighthouse, that is due to the Vex transforming Mercury "into a machine". Vex technology has a psychological effect on humans with prolonged exposure. Guardians are immune to it.

                          • The anomaly could be anything, if anything it's a communication devices that connects to a weapon. A-113 is a pixar reference. The number shows up in all their movies and is the classroom number at the university most of the original animators came from. As for the Lighthouse causing mass deja vu, it is probably vex tech that allows people with void sensitivity (ie Awoken) to see multiple realities. They were surrounded by themselves. An infinite number of variations echoing through space and time. This also makes the name of the location fitting, the Lighthouse. It can guide you through the vex network by creating a shining keyhole.

                              • Or, maybe these machines are keeping the entire system in a mild state of insanity, permanently blocking us from any lasting victory by making us blind to the long term solutions right in front of us. Only direct exposure from within the devices is strong enough to make you hair pulling crazy though.

                              • Could the paranoia be caused by all the vex machinery at the lighthouse? We know that Kabr lost his shit because he wore the vex as armor. Could the vex's hold on Mercury have the same effect?
