Not sure if it has been brought up yet, but I believe you actually get the IB gear/weapons to drop once you've actually hit the Vendor Rank/Purchase requirements. That's basically how it has been going for me so I could be wrong on my assumption here(or I'm totally an idiot and everyone already knows that this is a thing).
Also, why are you surprised? These are the same guys who couldn't fix the glitchy Praetorians outside the Vault of Glass after nearly more than two years.
Personally, what I think Bungie should implement from now on in the Crucible is a gift/card reward system where after each match you get a voucher for a randomly rolled item, much like what they currently have in regards to the loot table yet mixed in with the Sterling Treasure mechanic, but rather each player gets one rather than just two or three people and then there is a chance that you get a bonus drop on the rewards screen. It's obvious that the dev team could care less whether or not you participate in a match as long as you are a number in their statistics.
I got a 335 sniper on my first game.

The rank for loot got dropped when they made it so only purple is IB purple. Used to be if you got it, but was under rank you'd get an engram instead.

My, oh my, how many times do I have to repeat myself before people finally realize what I'm getting at? I wasn't upset because I didn't get gear. What irritated me was the fact that I got literally nothing. Just what everyone else was guaranteed to get. I'd have been happy with a single Mote of Light, it'd have been SOMETHING.

Okay? I already got that part so I don't know why you'd make that comment towards me. Were you trying to message someone else?

My apologies if I came off a bit rude, but with your mention of getting gear, I thought you had misunderstood what I was saying. I guess not, so apologies.

Edited by Sturm with no Drang: 7/20/2016 8:17:48 AMNo prob, I had only brought it up since it is the most common drop. Like I said within the spoiler, what really would work is that each player gets a voucher, similar to Sterling Treasure, that randomly pulls an item off randomly from a selected pool of rewards while varying scores that are better would result in rarer items/gear. This way everyone gets something as opposed to how glitchy the system already is. I mean, it's not like it's try-hard Trials so what's the harm?
To be honest, after seeing how after matches it would notify me if I got a piece of gear I believe that the game still rewards you Motes and Coins, but simply doesn't tell you right off the bat. I could be wrong, but if not then this is definitely a piss-poor way to guarantee players rewards even when nothing shows up on the after-match rewards screen.
The overall main problem is that at times it feels like the Bungie dev team just outright stopped working on certain parts, only finished halfway or didn't really put the players' best interests to heart.

It's sad that they either A) succumbed to their own greed, or B) have to obey Activision's greed.
