I don't know why I've thought of this but I think Bungie secretly slipped some siva into the game before all the dlc's came out. This is just a theory, and the evidence I have of siva being in destiny already is in a know exotic pulse rifle known as Red Death. The origins of this rifle are unclear, and how the user invented it. I believe that the user acquired some siva to add to the finishing touches of the Red Death. I also believe that the healing perk made of smart matter from the Suros, was cannibalized into the healing perk that you see on Red Death using siva.

You should keep in mind that most of the stuff we have gotten up until now should have came with the launch of destiny. You can assume this stuff was already thought through and you may be right about Suros and red death infected with SIVA.

I originally said that the Red Death was infected by SIVA. But I can see where you're going with the Suros, kind of.
