It's not their servers because they don't use servers for pvp, it's peer 2 peer connection. Dedicated servers would improve the situation but for some unknown reason they won't put them in.

Well as the person down below said it's"probably" bad coding after the update. But they do in fact have servers. As I said above it said "contacting destiny servers" i was having issues outside of matches not in them, I lost gear and progress because of it.
