Just wanted to comment here really quick regarding the post. At first, like game release first, I thought the story sucked. Like horribly. However, as the game progressed, the grimoire branched out. This is what Bungie is good at, build up of story. All of this was planned and I think that's awesome because it's a simple idea which grows easily. Start with a general concept (i.e. We're dead, but now we're alive. We don't know how or why.), now grow on that concept (introduces the power of the Traveler, light being a power source, being able to revive), and continue to grow on it (background of the Traveler, where guardians came from, how we came to be). A good story takes time to tell, and a reader of the story is there to enjoy the journey. This is why I'm excited to see where Destiny is going to go, because the story is just unfolding. There will be obvious plot holes or things purposefully left out (to base your own ideas), that's kind of how Halo's story unfolded. Bungie has a lot of potential here and that excites me.
