You wanted a YouTube video, I offered you my Twitch channel to see it live. The post we talked on was taken down and I didn't catch your username.
Well, just finished doing it and here are the first 3 games. Enjoy!
These videos not only show how many attempts fail for the people who don't see them, thinking that they all work, but they also show the little things that skilled chargers learn to do to increase the effectiveness, such as:
- Over-turning to the point where it breaks the aim assist and getting the kill from where your body is moving, this requires LOTS of practice and becomes a "feeling"
- Pushing the limits of the lunge distance/curve
- Staying extremely mobile and even weaving to dodge enemy fire
- Learning the exact timing of the Shoulder Charge activation window and manipulating the sprint to reset it at key times, this requires map awareness and planning
- Learning the enemy habits and play styles, similar skills needed to be good with Fusion Rifles
You can see each game gets better in regards to Shoulder Charge effectiveness the longer it goes on. You can also see that most people CHOOSE NOT to spec against my play style and THAT is why Shoulder Charge can be so effective, just like every other ability. If you're not set up to counter an ability and are playing in that ability's effective areas, you can't claim it to be OP. You're just ill-prepared and being stubborn. Learn to counter (mandatory "git gud" comment).
Yes, these are FULL GAMES, uncut, from fly-in to carnage report.

Brief summary:
- Game 1 = 34 kills, 27 Shoulder Charges
- Game 2 = 28 kills, 17 Shoulder Charges
- Game 3 = 25 kills, 20 Shoulder Charges
I'm the Striker you're all complaining about, not your every day average Striker Joe.

You should change your name to Scott Stevens. ..that shoulder charge killed a lot of careers...

Edited by Wallaby Vonwise: 6/24/2016 7:22:06 PMI really don't follow on how some folks expect a singular ability and weapon load to be an effective response to all plausible scenarios. I don't know where that's coming from, most shooters aren't like that and most rpg's aren't like that. Strengths, weaknesses, trade offs... Not everything should be a perfect counter match for everything else otherwise we'd be better off having only double jump and the exact same gun for everyone. The same way that Thorn shouldn't be able to cross map you, you shouldn't be able to as easily counter all close range attacks with a sniper, ace shot or no.

Top notch badassery.
-
MOTHER GOD YOU MONSTER-HUNTER
-
Your Titan's shoulders' are now damaged, you now deal -30% melee damage until your next rest stop visit.
-
Can it not be shoulder charge its easy get that number of kills with that but just do a fist fight
-
watched part of the match on Drifter where it seemed people tried to use primary or snipers the whole time -- this is what i've always said about Shoulder Charge, if you're wrecking people with it they're not countering you properly and any cries for a nerf are only because they can't sit back and snipe all day anymore. if that team were using shotguns, fusions, and sidearms instead of trying to snipe across inside heavy, you wouldn't have 20+ kills a match, none of us would. the ability is not OP unless people refuse to counter it and just want to cry for nerfs afterward. put down the sniper, pick up a different special weapon and git gud.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 6/24/2016 6:38:24 PMAs soon as I read the description I said "that has to be a Striker". I've seen countless Strikers go entire matches without using weapons. I've also seen countless threads with Strikers crying because they don't want nerfed. The reason people suddenly think they're OP is because this kind of thing has become normal. You're bringing it on yourselves.
-
<slow clap> This shoulder charge debate got very old very fast. 😞
-
Well, here's a metric for you: last week I had sex more times than you can do shoulder charge kills in a game :)
-
Last IB some Clan Mates all loaded up as Strikers and just SC.......almost as bad as the old Bubble Train.
-
keep DOING IT! make it the next BLINK! then it gets nerfed.
-
Good job - keep overusing the shoulder charge. When it gets nerfed you'll have no one to blame but yourself.
-
Edited by GHOST 9o5: 6/24/2016 7:08:12 PMThe list annoys me. It's as if you're saying SC takes this immense skill, and in secret you're glorifying yourself through that list. I mean, I won't deny a few of them, but I still see it that way.
-
Not impressive at all but you did what you said so theres that.
-
You're not that good. Also, reported for soliciting. Get good.
-
That isn't even surprising or impressive. Killing noobs with shoulder charge is easy.
-
Heh. I remember when you toasted that kid that was saying the micro transactions were gonna pay for DLC Good times ~~Dinklebot
-
Nice work, Titan.
-
Well that's shoulder charge -blam!-ed then, from a titan main too. Also it would be a nice idea to not bother including the 3 minute loading screen, bloody pointless that.
-
Good job.
-
Drifter is easy mode for Strikers. I'm wondering why people used primaries against you though. Nobody EVER uses primaries in MY games.
-
I usually average more kills not using weapons. When kill time is ten years. Why not run through bullets and shoulder charge? Why not just keep running and stick people with nades? But hey, nerf more stuff til it takes bullets twenty years to kill someone. Just going to be more running around with nades and shoulder charges.
-
You just basically guaranteed the nerf. Congrats.
-
Proof that Striker Titan is now the best PvP subclass. But I won't undermine your skill, good shit.
-
Lol offers up video proof of not needing weapons, by shoulder charging a bunch of people... Hen explains it doesnt need to be nerfed. Is shoulder charge avoidable, definitely... Will Bungie care once more people complain about it, definitely not.
