You wanted a YouTube video, I offered you my Twitch channel to see it live. The post we talked on was taken down and I didn't catch your username.
Well, just finished doing it and here are the first 3 games. Enjoy!
These videos not only show how many attempts fail for the people who don't see them, thinking that they all work, but they also show the little things that skilled chargers learn to do to increase the effectiveness, such as:
- Over-turning to the point where it breaks the aim assist and getting the kill from where your body is moving, this requires LOTS of practice and becomes a "feeling"
- Pushing the limits of the lunge distance/curve
- Staying extremely mobile and even weaving to dodge enemy fire
- Learning the exact timing of the Shoulder Charge activation window and manipulating the sprint to reset it at key times, this requires map awareness and planning
- Learning the enemy habits and play styles, similar skills needed to be good with Fusion Rifles
You can see each game gets better in regards to Shoulder Charge effectiveness the longer it goes on. You can also see that most people CHOOSE NOT to spec against my play style and THAT is why Shoulder Charge can be so effective, just like every other ability. If you're not set up to counter an ability and are playing in that ability's effective areas, you can't claim it to be OP. You're just ill-prepared and being stubborn. Learn to counter (mandatory "git gud" comment).
Yes, these are FULL GAMES, uncut, from fly-in to carnage report.

I'm usually on in the evenings during the week and most of the day during the weekends.

Um... that doesn't usually happen, I'm sorry...
Don't get me wrong, this is pretty impressive, but shoulder charge should still be nerfed. The whole idea of a melee that is a OHK is so dumb. I'm also talking about backstab. Even though it's situational or bullshit luck, it's still stupid.

YAY! GO TOASTER!
-
Here's another challenge, try it with a Hunter? Good luck
-
Aaaaannnd this is the reason people are calling for some sort of re-work on shoulder charge. Game 3 20 out of 25? You can't do that with any other class. And if you can, then there is no way you can do that nearly as consistent. Insta-kill abilities should be a no-go. And that should be a no-brainer.

Edited by Phnx y0: 6/25/2016 3:00:26 AMThings they need to change: shoulder charge activates when sprinting into a wall Shoulder charge stays active when not a full speed in the air The ability has no cooldown and can be spammed one after another resulting in a one shot, health regenerating melee

I just personally think it's the easiest way to play. I agree that clearly not everyone is good with SC, but it's really not hard to master. This was the first way I was getting 20+ kills when I sucked at crucible. Then I moved on because I wanted a better K.D. And because idk I think it's boring playing the same way all of the time. But who cares.... It's fun and anyone on the other side is gonna be salty because there's very little reaction time and lightning grenades seem to confuse the poop out of people. Solution: Carry a Shotgun Don't just stand in the way of a lightning grenade Jump around
-
And people are trying to say shoulder charger isn't OP but that's none of my business
-
Great vid I suck at SC I don't think it needs a nerf
-
And people say shoulder charge isn't OP.
-
Congrats, you just got SC nerfed lol
-
I find myself using the SC more than anything else. Using the ACD feedback combined with shoulder charge is the best ever!
-
Lol got them all complaining nice job hopefully they still won't nerf
-
You did all that just to prove a point to a troll? Well done I guess but not needed
-
Hey! It's Toaster!

Edited by DaGroove: 6/24/2016 7:28:43 PM
I'm the Striker you're all complaining about, not your every day average Striker Joe.
This is what everyone who cries about nerfs regarding prett much everything need to understand. 9 times out of 10 you were outplayed, not -blam!-ed over by some op magic weapon or ability. For instance, yes, thorn was a ridiculously good weapon and required you to run sunsinger/ram or red death to effectively counter, but it was really only good in the hands of someone who could pop two quick headshots on you and honestly, most players couldn't. The problem isn't things being too good, it's the crybabies being too bad at the game. They should never have nerfed thorn or Viking funeral, they should have implemented armor perks that defend against dot.
-
Mate, that's impressive. I love a good shoulder charge.
-
Yeah, because you were using shoulder charge like a pleb.
-
Shoulder charge is super easy to counter. One shotgun shell to the head will stop em.
-
Nice. But at 7:03 you got montaged
-
-
Now do it with a sword with zero heavy then post so I can dislike the video X)
-
Wait...im no god nor even great in this game. But I may call your bluff Did you jump into someone SBMM with a much lower KD and skill level than you, or did you do this against the REALKRAFTIES, LUMINOSITIES, TVan.GUARDS, and FUN POLICES of this game? If so great job....if not
SHAME!! on you. That's bad to pad your skill with and exploit toward your goal. I honestly don't think THE LUCKY AND BUTTWIPES of this game will be nowhere near this unaware.......
just a question tho
-
Video invalid. You weren't solo There is a difference In playing in a group of six rather than playing solo.
-
The shoulder charge 20+ kill is easy enough on the right map and against the right players. I.e. they get frustrated and do silly things to counter it. I'm not saying I can pull off three in a row like you did. I use it more to get the enemies team focused on trying to kill me and yes I die A LOT .. but the teams I play for usually win ( USUALLY) . as a striker I'm not going to throw out all our secrets, but I will say this be patient, and don't chase us in a circle. You will die most of the time chasing us. And don't hide around open corners. That is all. And good vids Sir.
-
Shoulder charge is only op when the other team don't know what a radar is. Good video!
