A modest Balancing proposal.

First, stop trying to re-balance guns and supers over, and over, and over. Second, instead of nerfing guns, create armor to counter that class of gun. For example, the Doctrine of Passing, many people feel it is OP because of the very high fire rate. Rather than reducing the damage, why not add a non-Newtonian Fluid Armor, which reduces the damage of consecutive shots, the faster the fire rate, the more damage it reduces. Then people have to figure out what guns are in the game and re-align their armor accordingly. Or maybe a missile dense armor that would have a Phalanx (the anti missile gun, not the Cabal) that would have a chance of stopping a shot before it got to you (and then cool down), so people with missiles are more likely to fire two shots instead of one, burning through ammo faster. And on the super front... Return the supers offensive power to full strength and length, but dramatically reduce the overshield so that a solo player has a reasonable chance to shoot someone out of their super. This keeps it powerful, but makes it so you have the be more selective when you choose to use your super. If Storm Trance or Hammers of Sol had little to no overshield, so you could shoot them down before they reached you (like when they are leading the charge in Rift), would people be so upset about how long they last or the other offensive features of the Super? Also, please stop nerfing one weapon to drive people to use a different one. Base the nerfing/buffing based on K/D, not usage. Like with the tripmine nerfs and swarm grenade buffs. Swarm grenade was under used, but was that because people didn't like the play style (and it was under used), of did tripmine result in a higher K/D? If a weapon is under used, but the K/D is about the same, then make more situations for the weapon or make mods that will make the weapon more desirable. The problem with the Swarm Grenade is that it doesn't track far for offensive abilities, and is very easy to see and avoid, ruining it for defensive uses. Either dramatically extend the track OR make the swarm harder to see. Or just replace it with something else. Imagine instead of a swarm, a temporary (5 second?) force barrier so people can't follow you through a door when running away. Going forward, when we build play style around certain weapons and supers, it angers the community when you destroy that play style. Instead, our weapons and defensive should improve over time (not regress), and we should be having to adjust our play to adapt to others weapon improvements to create a cohesive history. We should not be having to adjust our play because our weapons and supers have lost capability it once had. And I think you should test changes before making them canon to the story. Any easy way to do this would be to have Banshee's test guns have some of the features you want to test out before they go mainstream. Allow the test guns in normal Crucible, but not Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris.
