Titans, I think I have a solution to the Shoulder Charge dilemma. Can I get your opinions? (Poll)

Edit 3: I'll put this here so everyone can see it first If you are going to comment READ THE WHOLE POST FIRST THINGS FIRST I don't want to see you guys nerfed. However, with things the way they are now, the forum babies will begin to cry nerf on your Shoulder Charge which will restart the horrible domino effect that is, "Every class trying to nerf the other one". My suggestion is a simple one. I don't want your perk nerfed but it's been abused lately. So I've been thinking of ways to balance it and finally hit me. We don't need to nerf the target acquisition or the distance, we don't need a cool down timer, we don't need it to take up an energy charge, and we certainly don't need to stop 1hitKOing. However, to stop another nerf war from happening would guys agree to putting a -1 Armor effect on Shoulder Charge? It uses the same principal of the perk Blink, in that it has a -1 Recovery Stat attached to it. This would stop Titans who are abusing it from just running around relying solely on SC, giving other Guardians a chance to stop them before they use it. SC should be used I'm situations where you turn a corner and intercept a guardian who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It shouldn't be used as a discount pseudo shotgun. You shouldn't be running up to an enemy Guardian who is 100yrds. away, with the intent that you're going to shoulder charge them, rather than use the guns in your hand. So I'll ask again, to prevent another nerf war and for the sake of balance would you be okay with having a -1 Armor Stat attached to shoulder charge? P.s. I think we should discuss all balance issues like this from now on. Rather than demanding a nerf on a perk or class, let's ask that class to negotiate with us and offer a solution to what our problem is and work it out that way until agreeable terms are met. Thanks for listening Guardians :) Edit: A fellow Guardian named COOKIEMONSTER79 has also suggested a -1 to Agility rather than Armor and I think that his suggestion would work just as well if not better than mine.     • It should remain as is. Here are the reasons people die from shoulder charge 1. Lack of awareness. This can stem from anything: like having potatoes for eyes, to having your cerebral fluid replaced by mayonnaise. But it most commonly has to do with not watching your radar or simply not processing the red mark on your radar that is rapidly approaching as a close range threat. 2. Thinking you can take the hit. Maybe, if you are running around with the ram or have an over-shield or are in your super, but there is an exotic that can cause this thought to be a miscalculation. Happens less often than #1. 3. Trying to out run it like a fat kid. While this is actually a pretty good strategy, especially if you can mix in some bullets at the Titan, if you can't keep away for at least 5 (8 with the exotic for the duration) seconds, you die. 4. Thinking "I dodged it!" Another excellent strategy for avoiding the charge is to simply be outside of its angle of attack, however, experienced practitioners will know the true value of setting their sensitivity to a higher value, as this allows much tighter turns while sprinting, and the ability to better adjust your angle. In short, it's easier to dodge a novice charger than it is an expert. Still, the best angle to evade from would likely be a 90 degree section directly behind the Titan, assuming you can place yourself there before they realize your intentions. The best strategy to avoid being hit is simply to be out of range.

      • Is a good suggesting but just leave it alone. The Striker Titan its fine the way it is. The class is not crazy strong or crazy op just has a good solid neutral game. That can compete with others sup classes. The reason why people are saying Nerf Titans because the biggest crotch class has been nerf. It's not because people are saying nerf hunters this because it Bungie been watching and looking at the data. Remember how multi tool gotten nerf. It got nerf because it's became the most overuse weapon in the crucible. In the competitive world of Destiny hunters are the most overuse especially nightstalker in trial of osiris. 9 times a of 10 a fireteams of 3 have guaranteed there is nightstalker or sunsinger That's part of reason why nerf hunters and warlocks.

      • How is Shoulder Charge a problem? I'm a Bladedancer and I see nothing wrong with it. Strikers are balanced in my opinion.

            How about... We leave it alone. It's fine. It's just the fact that people can't use any other secondary than a sniper to melt them up close. Shotgun, fusion or sidearm destroys them.

          • I don't see a problem with SC. It's annoying being Shoulder charged, when it's being abused but what perk isn't annoying Blink and Shade step are just as frustrating in my opinion. There is so many options to counter SC I see it as a good balance to the hardscoper hahaha

            • nothing will be done to it, shoulder charge is a non issue in Trials so that right there will keep Bungie from targeting it. Plus it's easy to counter if you aren't staring down a sniper scope, look for the giant -blam!-ing Titan running at you not shooting. Back up and shoot him problem solved.

              Nope. Not voting. Your whole premise that SC is 'being abused' and that something needs to be done is flawed. Leave it as. OP is, surprise surprise, a Non-Titan sniper - just about the only special that some folks a struggle to kill a titan mid-SC with, cause they're too busy looking down their scopes to see what's happening around them. People use it how they want. Who are you to say how it should be used, or how often?

              • Honestly stfu. Nothing needs to be changed about an inconsistent melee. If you are still dying to a Titan running at you, you are the the problem not shoulder charge. I see one i know it means FoH or shoulder charge. Creating stupid suggestion posts to a balanced perk fuels the bitches crying nerf at everything.

              • I'm sorry but if u see a Titan running at you from 100 yds away you deserve to be shoulder charged. A simple shotgun to the face is more than enough to stop a charging titan

              • This sounds like politely asking for a nerf. Shoulder charge is fine as is...I hardly get killed by it...the funny thing is for the last 6 weeks I have been running my titan,I CANNOT SHOULDER CHARGE FOR SHIT!!!lol...I run the perk where it's harder to kill you during fist of havoc.

                Another passive aggressive don't nerf Shoulder Charge (please actually nerf shoulder charge) post. If you see a Titan running at you like a lunatic they either have a SC, FoH, or they're actually a lunatic. Jumping, shooting, and throwing a grenade if you have it, works wonders in those situations. If you blindly chase a Titan (or anyone) around a corner you deserve whatever comes your way. Shoulder Charge barely registered at all before the melee update, so how is it suddenly this plague that needs to be nerfed - I mean "balanced"... I guess we can expect to see, "Full armor Titans '[i]shouldn't[/i]' be nerfed" posts, next. People aren't going to be satisfied until all attacks do crap damage so they don't get their precious feelings hurt. Competition is hard...

              • Nah the effects on the side of the screen to let you know shoulder charge is ready sometimes doesn't even show up even after I've been running for about a minute yet other times it shows up 3 seconds after I start running

              • In order to stop "abuse" and overuse make juggernaut add +1 armor, and make max armor let you tank more things, a few extra bullets and stuff, right now max armor doesn't do much

                  I find it humorous that the poll is split 2/3 towards nerf (warlocks and hunters) and 1/3 towards nope (Titans) Lol ;)
