I'll give you the simple version as to what I do.
-go to tower pick up vanguard bounties.
-do heroic strikes until you are half way done on vanguard, then go petrol cosmodrome until yo rank in vanguard.
-now go tower, decrypt stuff, buy weapon parts until 10k, open vanguard package and finally finish off your chosen faction.

The point of my video was specifically the most efficient version. However, yours seems like it would keep everything more fresh and less redundant. It might not reward as much reputation, but it wouldn't be as boring! That's a good compromise.

Well being efficient is boring, to be honest that's too 'vex' in nature, which annoys me soo much. Meh.
