You don't need to do gold exploits to be honest, just by playing the game normally you'll have more than enough gold to do anything you want.
In my deathmarch play through I had 40k+ at the end of the game and that's never using a repair kit, just paying for repairs.
Once you loot and sell everything you'll be fine.

Just sell it anywhere, it doesn't matter where you sell it in the long run.

Just playing the game I easily got loaded with money
