I agree, but unfortunately people think that teaching the alternative is either too time consuming or not helpful when in reality it would help far more than this. It comes down to self-justification. Teachers and schools start these campaigns, and they think look at me I'm making a difference I'm trying to help, and so they don't try to do anything else. They convinced themselves it works, so they keep doing it.
