Bungie developers: More respect for your players, required.

I spent my limited spare time grinding IB, only to get a pair of boots @ 310 for my level 5 drop, which was essentially a repeat of my last IB drop of boots @ 311. You need to respect the time players put into the game, as some of us have limited amounts of free time to spare (e.g., work, kids, etc.). Put a little more effort into your RNG rewards system, or else people like me will toss your POS game for good. * A summary of the points already addressed, to avoid repeat posts: (1) You're disrespectful, yet you ask for respect from the developers. (2) Stop whining about RNG not going in your favor / it's an MMORPG and all part of the grind. (3) Bungie only cares about making money, not your opinions. (4) Do you think you can do a better job? * A summary of responses follow: (1) Apologies for the tone. It's meant as a shot across the bow. The game's beautiful and the developers do an overall great job, but that doesn't mean there can't be further improvements. (2) The criticism is about the design of the RNG reward system for IB specifically and not about the RNG system in general. IB as a special event akin to Trials, Crimson Doubles, SLR and raids should exhibit more care in the design of its RNG reward system. The IB RNG system so far, despite implementing tiered packages (i.e., ranks 3 and 5), appears to have an RNG reward system that's no better (and potentially worse on the lower end) than a HM raid. Namely, package drops at rank 5 in IB have a floor of 310 (vs. a floor of 311 in HM KF), despite requiring more time commitment than a boss fight in HM KF and far fewer chances at rolling the dice (i.e., IB rolls come around 6-8x/yr based on 1 roll at rank 5, 1 IB about every 2 months; KF rolls come around 260x/yr based on 5 boss fights per week at 52 weeks). Added to that, other special events seem to have RNG reward systems more commensurate with the added mechanics (e.g., Trials is performance based and offers Adept gear at the top of the heap; Crimson Doubles dropped guaranteed 320 ghosts, despite the circumstances surrounding that decision). Given the above, the IB reward system, IMHO, could use a tweak. (3) This is not the proper attitude of a consumer. You paid good money for the system and the game, and whatever other accessories; you're entitled to complain and/or make suggestions for improvement. Aside from that, paying attention to your customers is good for Bungie's bottom line. Continued use of their product means more opportunity for monetization; it makes good business sense. (4) That's not the point. If this were a complaint, instead, about the design of a car, does it make sense to tell the customer to go build a better one himself/herself? Aside from the absurdity of that retort, see point (3).
