Do you think bungie will include this feature in Reach? Being able to aim down your weapon's sight is easily my biggest want for Reach. Imagine if Bungie put iron sights on top of the AR and the other weapons! How cool and would it be to actually look through the scope of BR. This feature would add a whole new level of depth and realism to the game. When aiming, Auto-aim could be greatly toned down which would add a steeper learning curve to the game and lower the effectiveness of spraying and praying. Also, doing so would not slow you down at all. Bungie just might decide to surprise us!
UPDATE: Please don't just say "That would make it Call of Halo".
Posted by: Darkm2021 ah, I read it wrong. He said "scope" not "sight" I see. anyway, yea it's impossible to have ADS in Halo at this point simply due to the design of the weapons. None of them have sights.
Sorry bout that. I was being evil. And, just for a minute, imagine this feature in Reach. Would you use it? The weapons without scopes already aren't very effective at longer range, like the AR or Plasma Rifle. It also takes a lot of shots to kill someone, based on Halo 3. You would be better served by firing from the hip, or using a weapon that has a scope already. That way you wouldn't be moving at a reduced speed, unable to jump, and tunnel visioned all at the same time for such a marginal accuracy boost.

Halo is a run and gun game, most encounters take place on mid to short range. plus it would just be cosmetic. the AR and SMG are just not accurate guns
-
-
Nah, wouldn't work on the control scheme.
-
I say no to this feature. The other changes I don't think have made the game any less Halo-feeling. This...this would change things. No.
-
Aiming down iron sights would ruin Halo's overall feel. You're movement becomes very slow when your zoomed in. Its enough with having snipers, dmrs, pistols(anything with zoom). Its easy to pick off a player whos not paying attention and it wouldn't be fun with everyone steadily aiming their AR's from behind cover. Run and gun people, don't like it? Go play some.... well you know.

-
Does it really matter?
-
No, it would ruin Halo. MAYBE a perk, but definatley NOT usual.

It's already a fact that they won't do that. Would I want them to? Kind of, I think, Maybe..? Maybe Bungie's next game will be an fps like that, it could be the COD killer.
Posted by: TW InKoGnIto Why does it become a bland shooter just because you look down your sights? If anything it will help increase the skill needed to play the game because when you look down sights, you can't just hold the trigger down.
Wouldn't it take less skill? The sights are suppost to help you shoot targets at long distances.

No, ADS will just get in the way of the ranges of the weapons. The weapons aren't meant to increase their accuracy or range unless they have a scope. And do you seriously want a face-full of your AR's ammo counter?

Halo Reach has Aim Down Scope...

I feel stupider just reading half these comments... especially after reading that, name 5 other games other that CoD that use iron sights....that kid needs to get out more. Anyways, I'm indifferent on this, but, I like the helmet link zoom you get with guns without a sight. If you ever took the time to notice, you get a slightly farther zoom than a normal 2x zoom. You get about NO zoom with iron sights.
-
Literally, the best pat about Halo, is that it's not like any of those Games.
-
Well for your information halo is not real life its a game and how it goes is they dont need the scopes they just zoom there helment things in and i guess thats what happens

Not stuff that has been used in about every other FPS

Halo isn't CoD. Yes, I know CoD isn't the only one with the option to look down the sight, but it's the most iconic and recognizable so don't call me out for it. And the first thing that comes to my mind; why would a spartan need to look down his sights? He's a spartan for god's sake. No this is a terrible idea.
-
The only way I could see this working is if they implemented it in a spin-off game. A game set in the Insurrection maybe, that way it would be humans versus humans and you could get away with having less health.
