Speeds of Vehicles in Halo 3
I have calculated and compiled [b]a list of the top straight line speeds of every vehicle in Halo 3[/b]. They are measured in squares per second, or [i]sq/s[/i], where 1 square is the width of one of the squares on the grid seen in forge on Sandbox.
I am confident saying all speeds are accurate to within 0.5sq/s. For comparison, a spartan runs at a top speed of 2.5sq/s.
Vehicles with boost have their speeds both with and without using boost.
Banshee (no boost, drifting) - 4.5sq/s
Banshee (no boost, flying) - 7sq/s
Banshee (boost) - 19sq/s
Chopper (no boost) - 7.5sq/s
Chopper (boost) - 9sq/s
Ghost (no boost) - 5sq/s
Ghost (boost) - 9.5sq/s
Hornet - 9.5sq/s
Mongoose - 9sq/s
Prowler - 8sq/s
Scorpion - 5sq/s
Warthog - 9sq/s
Wraith (no boost) - 4.5sq/s
Wraith (boost) - 8.5sq/s

I'm pretty sure the warthog has a higher top speed. It's definitly got a higher speed than the mongoose.

Very Nice. Now I am not overly fond of vehicles, but I like to know how fast they move so I know where to target a laser or something.

Now you times the speeds by 2 to get the actual speed due to the fact that the spartans have very high reflex speeds the world around them moves slower.

are you sure that a Ghost without boost moves slower at 35 mph than a chopper with no boost at 52 mph? In the game, the chopper seems to be much slower than the ghost

Are you sure about that? I always thought the hornet was pretty slow, not faster than a Hog surely..... And the Banshee outstrips it every time. :S

HSB, you're just a nuissance. And I'm quite confident you do it on purpose. Vehicles don't suck. I do quite well when I decide to use them. Anyway, thanks for the info on the vehicle speeds. That is a fairly useful peice of information to know. Especially when someone challenges you to a race.

I realized the hog was faster a while ago...but i feel like it should be the other way around, this way the hog just has everything on the goose.

how is a hornet the same speed as a ghost? I coulda sworn I out ran that hornet when I was playing capture the flag..
