Bungie, why

Love the concept of the game, played a ton with my best friend, but the ball has not only been dropped, seems like it was slam-dunked. xD I bought the base, incomplete game used, for $45 USD. Then I got the Dark Below and House of Wolves DLC packs for $20 USD each, increasing my total cost of the game to $85 USD. And now, still an incomplete game, albeit with many more features, not sure what's in the Taken King, they want me to spend another $40 USD on the game? And if I don't, I can't do much of anything. Can't do heroics or nightfalls, PVP matchmaking time slows down because a lot of people bought the DLC and are playing in the DLC playlists, leaving me in the "Legacy" playlist. I was and am a Bungie fan, ever since I first played Halo: Combat Evolved. I've got every single Halo novel, played all the games and own most of them still. But this is a nightmare. Bungie has severely alienated long-time fans such as myself with this money-grab. Granted, I'm sure Activision has some part in it. But still, as a Bungie fan and supporter, I am disappointed. I just wanna play the game, you know? I can't even get any better gear than I currently have (NOT top tier, even for Dark Below and House of Wolves) because everything is switched over to Legendary Marks and, as I am unable to participate in heroics and Nightfalls, and most other activities, I am unable to effectively accumulate marks. Can't you at least lower the price of the Taken King to something more reasonable, Bungie? Can't there be some sort of middle-ground between unlocking the full DLC and being able to still play the game? Why this "screw you" to long-time fans who can't spend another $40 on a DLC pack, Bungie? Destiny is great, but when will the madness end? I've already sunk $85 USD in a game that isn't so fantastically amazing that it deserves another $40, Destiny is not worth $125. Why won't you just let me play the game and enjoy the full experience of the game that I've already spend $85 dollars on, Bungie? Remember Halo? You didn't make the DLC packs dominate everything, and diminish the experience for those who couldn't keep sinking money in to your company. You made specific playlists and ways to complement those players, and include them who bought the DLC. I don't want you to give me a free game, I just want to enjoy the full experience of the game that's I've bought, and now is being limited. I just want to play the game with my friends. Destiny can still be a great game, don't exclude those who won't spend $100, $200, $500, on your game in DLC packs. Just let me enjoy the game I've purchased, please.
