Remember when you and three other random guys came and helped you fight the Wolves? Then when you got the Ether Key you and the others would split off and try to find the chest? Someone would wave, and everybody would go regroup where the guy was most of the time.

Exactly. This was great, because it appeared as if there was not one but you agains the wolves, and as soon as they start dropping there were tons of people fighting a mini war . And yes at the end there was always someone pointing where the chest was. This is what I call cooperative gameplay in a very uncooperative social game.

Throwing down the Titan bubble to show where the chest was and to keep anyone from being ambushed by the locals. Particularly in hobgoblin territory in the Citadel.
