Etheric Light made all content relevant and respected the player's prior time and effort.
The current Infusion system makes only a small handful of content relevant, makes loot a dual-RNG grindfest over the course of months, and it completely invalidates time spent in Year 1.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out which system worked better, Bungie.

All I remember ethierc light doing was making all the raid weapons from vog the only real ones used in PoE.

Word of Crota? Invective? Oath breaker? Gallajhorn? Ice breaker? Black hammer? Only VoG weapon I really rocked in PoE was fate bringer, and that was only if there was an arc burn. VoC and abyss defiant split time on solar, but Abyss usually won out if hive wizards were involved.

Well you're right there were others than vog ones invecentive, ghorn, ib were all from the content that came along with vog even though they could drop in w/e that raid on the moon was called. But also that is a short list of items people usually rocked when etheric light came out because they were simply far better then what new weapons they keep adding. Also f**k abyss long live vision especially after auto rifle kick to the nuts.

Hah, AR kick to the nuts was right. I could only use Abyss with a burn - probably why I used it so much in PoE - only place I could find a solar burn
