So for anyone who plays destiny's PvE anymore outside of The Kings Fall raid you must have noticed that the Will of Crota was added to the Heroic Strike Playlist. The Major enemy of this strike, Omnigul, a hive wizard, was a key point when it came to the story of the Dark Below DLC.
So why is Omnigul being added to the heroic strike rotation important to Destiny's current endgame?
It is simply because this is the only strike brought forward from Year 1 with 0 Taken influence.
That's correct, there are 0 taken enemies whatsoever in this strike.
Note: The section of the strike where you are allowed to explore skywatch does not count as it is not a darkness Zone.
What this shows is that it is possible for Bungie to Update Year 1 content without changing mechanics or adding Taken. This means it would be very possible to change things such as the Prison of Elders, Crotas End, and the coveted Vault of Glass.
Some of you may say that the elemental primaries these activities drop would prohibit the value of these raids. For that I propose two solutions.
1: Use the same Drops, but remove the elemental burns from the primaries. (Minus the Vex Mythoclast and Necrochasm)
With this solution we can keep our favorite weapons from these raids with the trade off of having a new raid with no elemental Primaries.
2: Remove all previous weapons from the new loot pool and add entirely new weapons.
While I would love to have the first solution be set there are a couple of problems with that idea. The biggest of which is that most of the primaries from those raids were known for there elemental burns( Except for the special perks on the Crotas End primaries) removing those burns would severely downplay the rarity of the weapons.
This post may be the most important thing to the game when it comes to PvE lifespan. Please bump and share and comment so we can get Bungie's attention.
Edit: Woo 30+ replies, yay.
Edit: I forgot to add certain things, Someone replied that the strike was given strike exclusive gear in the form of the Oversou- Grasp of Malok and the omnigul bond. While that may be a valid reason it still does not explain the Complete absence of Taken enemies. This is the only strike without Taken enemies in the heroic strike playlist. Another argument was that skywatch having Taken enemies also counted as part of the strike
It doesn't
Skywatch is a Patrol area that intercepts with the path of the strike.
100+ reply edit: So apparently some people thought I was just figuring out that they could update the raids. This post was meant to be more pressure on Bungie about their laziness and to inform people about it.
One argument some people made to the raids being updated is that if it just took changing some stats on the mobs it would've been done already. And let me kill something right now, Dust Palace, Undying Mind, and Cerberus Vae 3 are all strikes that came before The Taken King and those all have Taken. The argument of Omnigul coming before the Taken King is invalid.
200+ reply edit:So as Jt2112 has pointed out, yes a raid would require a lot more effort than a strike, the only thing I was saying in the post was that it was simple enough as to change the numbers of the enemies and bosses/Rewards. Also I know Taniks has no Taken, He owes his allegiance to no race, He bows before no Worm.

Do you really want them bringing forward old content instead of creating new content?
