Meh not feeling it, too blue and too nice and perfect. Flag should be intentionally flawed, because we're flawed

That's deep man...
-
What a sunny outlook.
-
Can't disagree though.
-
I can. Flags are intended to unite people, to share pride in something. Does anyone share pride in their flaws? Is that even philosophically possible?
-
Indeed it is many take pride in flaws they cannot change. As for Flags while they are supposed to 'Unite' ppl they also cause segregation hell just look at football we segregate ourselves into clubs and all a flag does is segregate nations.
-
Flags are symbols of solidarity and unity, a celebration for the people who belong to that collective. If you don't belong to that collective, you have another you can stand with and feel that same pride. It's not about 'My flag's better than yours.' It's about how we identify ourselves, and there's no reason not to celebrate who and what you are.
all a flag does is segregate
Oh yeah, I bet the Martians are pissed off at this Earth flag notion.

Don't joke man their coming in their Tripods! *puts on tin foil hat* Meh I get where you are coming from I just dislike things that we use to separate ourselves from others. Notions of nationality, skin colour, religion. I simply stand behind the fact that we are human therefore we are connected.

I do agree that many forms of division are illusory, including nationality, in many cases. But national identity doesn't necessarily come at the cost of xenophobia; you don't have to hate other countries because you love yours. Indeed, enjoying aspects of your own culture can give you a positive perspective on others(') too.
