Who here remembers the Pit in Halo 3? Rushing those hallways for Rockets and Active Camo? Or underneath the towers for sniper rifles? The control room where the Energy Sword was?
Or Snowbound trying to be the first team to get to the shotgun base?
Or trying to get the Banshee on Sandtrap?
Oh the memories...
I feel bad for any of you who plan on camping special ammo crates waiting for them to spawn if you never experienced battling for power weapons in Halo.
-
Halo pvp > destiny pvp
-
Yeah, that's why MLG was basically born from Halo. Everyone started on the same footing (assuming no spawn bias). Control the map and control the weapons.
-
Anyone remember when the UNSC had flying vehicles?
-
The best feeling was outplaying someone who had a power weapon. It made you feel like a godslayer
-
Halo PvP is the gold standard. Always has been and always will be. Destiny is an absolute joke in comparison.
-
I play Halo 5 everyday lol
-
Rennet when you he people who didn't know how to use that stuff always jumped on it. Yes I don't miss it in the slightest
-
Ya, it was dumb

I was a day 1 halo2 player and you've sparked my memories. I miss: Clans. Nothing like going into btb where everyone had a mic and there was no party chat, and asking anyone and everyone to join your clan. Button glitches. BxR, double and quad shot. This really separated noobs from sweats. If you could do these things you could almost never go less than +10 in public games. The sword. Guardians know nothing of the original sword glitch. You could endlessly jump on someone's head while they sword cancelled your feet up to infinite heights. Not to mention it's the most OP weapon in gaming history (arguably) Community invented games. Before zombies was a game mode it was a custom game with one guy as the zombie spawning with sword. No shields. Everyone else starts with a magnum. If the zombie kills you, you switch teams. Also, cat and mouse. 2 guys in wraiths, everyone else on foot. No shooting with the wraith, splatters only. No respawn. Last man standing wins. Halo 3 took time to grow on me but the amount of people on it and the sheer fun and wacky shit that happened made it a classic. TL;DR I'm old and played too much halo.

Can't wait for the new Doom's multiplayer
-
Scorpion, Warthog, Ghost, & Banshee Even the first Halo had vehicles you could use 15 years ago. What the -blam!- happened here?
-
That -blam!-ing sandtrap banshee... And people still do that. If i get the shotgun in CTF, GG just give up

I agree, I had all spawn times memorized in halo 3. I was easily the first one there either grabbing the power weapons or battling for them. That's one thing I dislike about halo 5, the fact that it's displayed the whole time it's gone, easy to run around and kill then hearing that weapon pads are spawning so you just run there, rather than watching the time and strategically getting them.

Pepperidge farm remembers
-
Rockets in the middle of Blood Gulch. Remembering what time they were picked up so you knew what second they would spawn on the time clock. Sniper tower on Lockout. Shooting the explosive barrels to make it fly towards you if you spawned the opposite side. Halo 4 is why I gave up on Halo. When they took away power weapon control, it wasn't the same to me. It lost its touch. And I was so disappointed with MCC, that I didn't even bother with 5. Halo 3 was my favorite. I was even a big fan of Reach.
-
Personally I'm glad Bungie moved on...that style of PvP got stale
-
I left destiny for halo 5, my god is halo 5 amazing.
-
Aw man, the good ol days, I remember playing jenga in standoff, twas my favorite game mode.
-
I certainly remember that. Halo 5 just doesn't feel the same. Halo 2 and 4 were my favorites.
-
I do on Halo 5
-
Ahh the pit! So many memories. "Guardian" too!
-
Personally not a big fan
-
Trying to be the first one in Halo CE on PC to get the flamethrower. Good times. I always win those battles.
-
The biggest difference is there are a bunch on each map

General grade 5 here, I miss those days h3 was dope
