Great Idea to Replace Lance Perk on Voidwalker...

Since almost anyone who has ever played as a Voidwalker knows.... The Lance perk is Grade A garbage. I recently was thinking of something that would be better instead of that perk, and I've got it right here: [b]Super Nova:[/b] A Voidwalker Warlock takes their charged Void energy in each hand and quickly slams them together (much like fission) to cause a Void explosion in a large area surrounding themself. ...and yes, this will not actually hurt you when you use it! (Because nobody likes hurting/killing themselves when they need to use their standard Nova Bombs on the ground next to them) Because it isn't ranged like the others, balancing will then give it more blast radius than the others. Let me know what you guys think in the comments... Edit: Thanks to all you guys who have put some thought into this post and having conversations with me :) This is my first post thats really "blown up" for me.

  • As a Voidwalker main myself that is a avid user of the class in both PvE and PvP I actually think Lance is underrated in the latter mode. My reasoning behind this is simple. The perk Lance gives you two things I value highly when using Nova Bomb to shut down roaming supers that are so affectively attached to the "meta" by making the animation substantially quicker. This also has the added benefit of giving opponents a smaller window to evade the super. The second benefit it grants is that travels in a straight line allowing pin-point accuracy that many newcomers lack causing failure of launch in a panic or frentic state. Of course, for PvE, Lance is essentially useless. AI enemies are simply not reactive enough to dodge away a Nova Bomb in most scenarios, but as for PvE it can mean the diference between eating a hammer to the face or not launching the super fast enough to catch the HMG wiping out Zone B. However, I must say there is definately a tradeoff if that the massive AoE capabilities of Shatter, which I consdier a equal choice in PvP, or the zone controling lingering effect of Vortex, but I value the afforementioned traits of improved velocity and accuracy that Lance offers in PvP. I hope this comment is useful for at least one person. I highly recommend giving the perk a chance. It may take a bit of adjustment, considering the possibly jarring effect of a straightly traveling NB instead of having the accostumed arching path, but nonetheless I highly recommend it.
