My favorite build:
Axion bolt
Blink or Focused burst (your choice)
Melee: Soul rip
Nova bomb: Any, but I recommend shatter.
Arcane wisdom
The hunger
Chaos order
Embrace the void
EXOTIC: The Ram (REQUIRED!)
This is a melee focused build. Toss an axion bolt at someone, blink in and melee them. Or, since you have life steal, win any melee fight.

The Ram is fun but I actually preferred it for PvE only. PvP I didn't find enough benefit from a little armor and the extra melee buffs.
