Beta Player. Saying goodbye...finally

Dear Destiny, Bungie, The Community I'm sure you've read these posts before but it's my time to permanently leave this game. This game has brought me hundreds of hours of enjoyment and great times and even some good friends. I began being excited for this game ever since it's announcement, wanting to once again enter the awesomeness that is Bungie's presence. I remember my first raid like it was yesterday, me and some best friends staying up late going in blind. All the trials and tribulations led me to having some of the best times I've ever had, and ever will have, in my video game career (Loot Cave and the greedy Rahool, Jackolyte, Felwinter's Sniper, pushing around the Templar, that sweet sweet Gjallarhorn, Kneeled Crota, Burn Skolas). I played daily for the entirety of Year 1 loving it, so excited to get my hands on TTK and leaving school early to get it (Yes I'm 17, "got sick") and my hands shaking when I finally had it. However, after returning to this game from a quick 3 week break and experiencing other FPS (CoD: BO3, Halo 5: Guardians, even Fallout 4 to an extent) I've come to realize I just don't have fun with this game anymore. The story is bland and doesn't quench my thirst of knowledge for its lore like other games. The gun play used to be amazing and tight, but with all of the changes I'm afraid Bungie is unsure of what they want for their multiplayer and has made the PvP unbearable to play unless in a group of well organized friends that know how to play (I'm looking at you Iron Banner!) Last but not least the raid. Yes, it's better than Crota, but dare I say is probably the easiest thing I've ever done. Challenge mode? Ha, you mean small tweaks to the already used methods. This game has become boring in its PvE and frustratingly broken in its PvP and it pains me to play now knowing what is used to be. Although I basically just shat on this game harder than a Striker on a Defender bubble on B flag, I still love it. I criticize this game because it is...was...awesome. This game has truly impacted my gaming career and will always be a landmark in my books and for that I say thank you. Sadly, the way Bungie is taking this game is not for me. I love what this game was. What it had the potential to be and will just be disappointed that I'll never see that. Goodbye Destiny, it's Community and goodbye Bungie, I hope your quest for world domination comes together because you guys deserve more than Master Chief deserves a good game again. Sincerely, a Veteran to both Destiny and Bungie -MiniMoneyRoll98

 • This community is so hilarious. I read all of these "I'm a veteran and I'm finally leaving" posts where everybody is all glossy-eyed about the year 1 glory days and just laugh. I was here, man. Year 1 was absolutely ridiculous. When my vault gear became useless literally 5 days after I got over Forever 29, I lost my goddamn shit. When I started getting kicked from parties for having Hunger of Crota instead of Gjallarhorn, I lost my goddamn shit. The RNG in year 1 was just absolutely abysmal. I didn't get a single Hawkmoon until about a week before The Taken King dropped. In The Taken King, I've gotten 4. Yes, year 1 was also great and a lot of wonderful things happened. I can still remember the first time I beat Atheon and the first time I beat Crota, the first time I successfully ran the sword and when Gjallarhorn FINALLY dropped for me just prior to The House of Wolves. I can still remember dropping Skolas in like 42 seconds... I remember my Ice Breaker and how it was just an all around wonderful weapon. Okay? I get it. Some things in year 1 were amazing. However, I also remember the countless bugs and glitches, the lag that still exists to this day, Queen's Wrath leaving for months and not getting changed so we actually like it and then coming back for a week solely to promote DLC, a shotgun so powerful that it was nicknamed the Felwinter's Sniper, that time my Shadow Price became obsolete so I deleted it only to find out that I could never get it back and then Bungie gave us Etheric Light and then they took that away from us too, how frustrating the Thorn bounty was to solo, Vault of Glass giving me double drops of Praedyth's Revenge way too many times but never giving me Fatebringer, Vex Mythoclast dominating the Crucible for a few days and then getting nerfed into the ground only to come back and get nerfed into the ground again, Thorn, the absolutely abysmal storytelling and so much more. Yes. Year 1 had some great times that I'll remember and cherish for the rest of my time as a gamer. However, there's so much shit I wish I could forget about year 1 as well. The Taken King is a step in the right direction (as far as content goes, not business practices... No). This game finally has a competent storyline in it. We have a bad guy with a goal and a reason for us to stop him from achieving it as opposed to some floating black goo that we hate because... Um. He makes robots teleport.
