Destiny 2 wishlist
So I have compiled a list of suggestions that I have seen around the bungie forums or have wanted myself to be added. I am warning you, this list does go into detail so if you want to only read the shorter version then fair enough. The reason why I am focusing on Destiny 2 is due to it probably having better processing which would allow it to certain much more data. Although I would not be opposed to these being implemented in the original game as well. These are ideas I believe can improve the game for the better and help lift it from it's bad reception by many players
Better solo player options.
My idea is that you do it so that as each player joins either the health or number of enemies increases slightly. This means that while fireteams are still preferable as overall they deal more damage, solo players are not left out.
A reinvention of weapon types.
Let's break away from this constant circle of nerfing and add an niche to each weapon type meaning that instead of everyone being pushed into different weapon types by nerf displacement (IE. many hand cannon users unable to competitively use this favourite class for the main part)
A free demo/open beta which allows people to try out the new game and see if they like it.
Destiny right now have an appalling rep in gaming communities. A free demo would at least offer a better chance at changing that as people can take a look at the game and try out the new systems in place. This would start perhaps in the month or fortnight before the game is released and then gets run up till release day. Let's face it, right now Bungie you have an awful lot of fans who just feel a bit burned by your game; this demo would be a good chance to change people's minds.
New creative bosses
These would be bosses which both challenge players in new and unique ways and give us a reason to kill them (IE: appearing in earlier missions to taunt us etc.) This is also a way for you to inject more lore into the game as well. Such mechanics could be such things like a boss which flies up into the air and projects a force field for example. Our job would then be to get to different generators and disable them to remove the shield which then leaves the boss exposed for a moment before starting to attack us again after sinking back down to the ground.
Give ships a purpose beyond just loading screens.
Ships battles would be nice, but honestly it would be fine even if we could just wonder around the cockpit. Just give us something to do with them for crying out loud.
More guardian customisation options.
I think it is safe to assume that Destiny 2 will be next gen only, saying how many games these days are such and a new game would be the perfect time to cross over and start taking advantage of the better processing power found on those consoles. And that means that more customisation options should be able to be supported. Now things such as a barbers and geneticist for humans and awoken and a mechanics for exo could then feature as places where we can customise our characters appearance. So we can go and change our hair, our eye colour and even our beards if we want; yes I am saying that the game finally removes that one from the community wishlist.
More events than just Iron Banner
We should have a bunch of events that go around in a circle through the year, my suggestion is that we have three different ones (Iron Banner [PVP], a pve one and a large scale pvpve event egc.) in a three month cycle on a constant loop. Also we see the return to glimmer for the buyable rewards as well. Also instead of the vendor just selling two pieces of armour instead they sell a full set (to balance there being different events), with then another set only available from postgame rewards. These events would be called minor events, as they would be constant ones set in the first half of each month, last for a week and guaranteed each time.
"Major events"
My next suggestion is major events, which are basically like SRL. They occur in the second half of the month, last for a week and have a lot more variety. These events may feature plots such as a hive wizard gathering an army and attacking the city walls. Then our goal is to defend different points in a variety of missions to defend the city. Such missions may have different quirks like a mission where you are posted on "sniper duty". There you are led on top of the city wall with a sniper rifle with unlimited ammo (explained by a npc constantly stacking ammo packs nearby) and your goal is to kill enemies before they reach the walls. You are playing against your fireteam here as you then get bonus rep for gaining the most kills etc. Or perhaps a boss is leading an attack on the walls and your goal is to go as fireteam to take it out. This is just one idea for an event but it would certainly liven the game and pull in players as a way for them to enjoy themselves. Then a NPCis in charge of these events who offers rewards like armour, a variety of class items (like for the city defense example, it could be flags and banners from around the city etc.). But here is the pincher, if the community likes an mission type from a major event then a new "community playlist" gets added where players can play those missions more. This would be done by a separate team to those who handle the servers and other issues such as bugs of course.
Dedicated servers.
This is one of the reasons why Destiny is hated by many players right now, it is because of the lag that we face.
Removal of armour ratings off class items.
The artifact 320 trick showed us that light level is a mean average of our gear light level, so that means that you should have no issues with this. Keep the perks you want but do not hinder players for what are pretty much cosmetic items. Also allow shader compatibility with gear like clears and marks for crying out loud. Nothing spoils the theme of an all-black clad badass titan like a bright neon green piece of fabric hanging from this belt.
Better RNG
People do not feel rewarded when they are top of the leaderboard yet receive absolute rubbish, While I am not suggested a decrease in loot drop chances for lower ranked players, I do believe that at least the top 3 should have improved odds as a reward for good play.

I know Bungie is not probably going to read this, but if you like it or want to discuss it then comment or bump. The more bumps we do then the better chances Bungie do see this and potentially add even a few features from here into the game. If you have any ideas you want to add to this list then put them into the comments and I will add them to the list.
~ Joshua TCB
