when it comes down to individual fighting ability based on the training and augmentation such as having a broken bone not even slow them down the Spartan II's are better but they are pretty much just drones. They were essentially made for combat and thats it they go where they are told and have no choice in the matter. ODST's are all volunteers it takes a hell of a lot of courage to do something like that ODST's are like US Army Rangers and Paratroopers today. Volunteers always deserve the most respect and the ODST's are still great soldiers

Well the Spartans where always intended to be superior in every way to an ODST, and given the nature of the Spartan Program (trained since children, etc) I don't see how a ODST could match and in Halo ODST I do think you where overpowered. Simply put, Master Chief could kick Rookies ass.

On Buck's halo reach firefight voice, it says, "if he were any better, he'd be a spartan." I think we both know they are comparing the skills of an odst to be NEARLY as good as a spartan... just saying

masterchief isn't that cool. People glorify him so much, that I've started to hate him. I was so glad when odst came out, that I didn't have to play as that ugly green bastard again. Now halo 4s coming out, and if it doesn't have some kind of awesome new armor system, I just might skip it.

Damn this kid can't spell. For the same price as a mjolnir armor suit, you could field a company of ODSTs. which do you think would do more damage? Spartans are nice, but weighing in at 1000lbs, I wouldn't use them for covert missions. I'd use ODSTs.

Why is this a question? Spartans have better equipment, augmentations, better training and are from a better gene pool.

Dude, have you read any of the books? The books actually say that they were augmentated or somthing like that. So they probably could rip the limbs off of an O.D.S.T if they wanted to.

If the ODSTs were better than Spartans then there wouldn't have been any need for Spartans in the first place.
