Some of your ideas are good, but others I'm not sure about. One of the things I got from reading the Titan update was that each talent is meant to have specific synergies with other talents in the grid. For that reason, I do not think any talent will have it's basic effect altered, only buffed or expanded. I've tried to compile a list of my own suggestions, working within those confines, and would be interested in seeing if we could merge our lists into one that uses the best of both. Here's an interesting piece of data to consider as we proceed. Planet Destiny recently interviewed two of the guys who have leadership roles in the balancing efforts, and they were specifically asked about other classes receiving updates as Titans had. Although they were hesitant to commit to anything, they did suggest that if anything were to happen Warlocks would probably be next, and then one of them made an off-hand comment suggesting that they have data showing that the Sunsinger in particular is underperforming at the moment. The link to the video (highlights version) is below. The question is near the end. https://youtu.be/vg01vtcqPYA Here is my own list of suggested changes for the Warlock's Year 1 subclasses. Voidwalker: >Nova Bomb detonations in close proximity to the caster will no longer cause damage to the caster. >To alleviate confusion, the buff provided by the Energy Drain melee ability has been renamed Syphon. The cooldown reduction provided by this buff has been increased. >Super energy gained from the Soul Rip talent has been increased to be on par with the new value for the Striker's Amplify talent. >In addition to its current effect Angry Magic now causes targets struck directly by Nova Bomb to receive 50% additional damage from all sources for a short duration. >The agility bonus previously provided by Annihilate is now provided by Vortex Mastery. Sunsinger: >The base cooldown rate for abilities while Radiance is active has been improved. The maximum rates have not changed. This makes Radiance somewhat less dependant on strength and discipline scores. >Ability cooldowns affected by Radiance and Song of Flame will ignore the Trickle modifier for as long as those effects are applied. >The Song of Flame talent will now affect all allied players regardless of proximity to the caster. >In addition to its current effect the Song of Flame talent will now cause the ability kills of all fireteam members to begin health regeneration. >In addition to its current effect the Solar Wind talent now extends the range of the Scorch melee. Enemies pushed by Solar Wind will be staggered. >In addition to its current effect the Brimstone talent now causes enemies to receive the full burn damage from Scorch immediately. Enemies damaged by the Brimstone explosion are ignited. >The Sunburst talent now applies to grenade kills as well as those of the Scorch melee.

Interesting input. I'll be sure to check out the video, and I like your mention of synergy between the perk nodes. I do wish some things I mentioned in italics above are added, but anything can happen really. Of the whole post though, I'm especially fond of your Sunsinger ideas. Makes the class sound much more fun for PvE (especially the power to bypass Trickle, but that part might be considered "gamebreaking" by the developers lol) and a few are better than what I came up with. Hopefully some of our ideas get added. :D Edit: Watched the video and noticed they were talking about Thorn. PvP players will not be pleased...

  • The bypassing of Trickle I included because Trickle pretty much destroys Radiance when it's present. Even with a high stat tier, you only get one or two extra ability charges. For a Gunslinger or a Defender, it takes longer to get that super, but the super itself is unaffected. I just want the same for Sunsingers as well. If you feel so inclined, I'd like to know which of your proposed changes you think are most desirable. I'd like to work toward as much of a consensus as possible, as that has the greatest chance of gaining attention.

  • These are the proposed changes that you either didn't mention or I am just too stingy to let go of. I just feel that some such as Lance and Embrace the Void should be musts in PvE, but you are welcome to disagree:
Voidwalker: Nova Bomb: Increased damage against PvE Majors and Ultras. Focused Burst: Now applies speed boost to entire Glide duration. Renamed to Focused Speed. Lance: Stay in place when prepping the Nova Bomb. Soul Rip: Kills will reduce both your Nova Bomb and grenade cooldown The Hunger: Duration of Energy Drain is increased. Increased melee speed while Energy Drain is in effect. Embrace the Void: Damage with grenades and Nova bomb activate Energy Drain effect. Kills with Nova Bomb instantly restore health. +1 Armor added. Sunsinger: Sunburst: Killing an enemy with Scorch has a chance to drop two Orbs of Light. +1 Armor added and faster weapon movement while aiming down sights in midair.

Voidwalker: Nova Bomb: Increased damage against PvE Majors and Ultras.
Changes like these I would hesitate to associate with any specific subclass. Quite a lot of supers in the game don't hold up against Major and Ultra tier enemies. As much as I'd like to see this, I gave up on it when no similar effect was added to Fist of Havoc. My Angry Magic change was partially in hopes of addressing this concern.
Focused Burst: Now applies speed boost to entire Glide duration. Renamed to Focused Speed.
The Glide jump feels slow no matter who is using it. This again is a change I don't think should be subclass specific. It would make me happy, though.
Lance: Stay in place when prepping the Nova Bomb.
Agreed.
Soul Rip: Kills will reduce both your Nova Bomb and grenade cooldown
Increasing the Syphon effect from Energy Drain would grant the grenade cooldown portion of this, so I want to say we are in agreement here? Decreasing grenade cooldown is the main benefit of Energy Drain. You shouldn't need to select a specific talent to make it work adequately.
The Hunger: Duration of Energy Drain is increased. Increased melee speed while Energy Drain is in effect. Embrace the Void: Damage with grenades and Nova bomb activate Energy Drain effect. Kills with Nova Bomb instantly restore health. +1 Armor added.
The main problem I see with these talents is that they are based on the Syphon/Energy Drain effect, which at present is too lackluster to affect playstyle. It is my opinion that fixing that effect fixes both of these talents as well. I do like the idea of Nova Bomb kills regenerating health, though. That would be a good alternative to add to the Angry Magic talent if my suggestion took the subclass too far afield of its intended roll. So far, each subclass has two talents that give stat boosts. I hate that the Voidwalker has both of them in the same column. I moved the agility bonus from Angry Magic to Vortex Mastery, but given the popularity of Annihilate I could just as easily see moving the armor bonus it provides to Embrace the Void. I don't think we'd see three talents in the grid with stat boosts, but who can say?
Sunsinger: Sunburst: Killing an enemy with Scorch has a chance to drop two Orbs of Light. One orb of light guaranteed.
This talent could benefit from either of our ideas, but both would probably be too much. As to which one it should be, I can see arguments for both.
Angel of Light: Aiming weapon while in air holds you in place briefly. +1 Armor added and faster weapon movement while aiming down sights in midair.
I don't use Angel of Light much myself, but I'm hesitant to do too much with it. I have seen some skilled players make some pretty wild plays with this and the similar Titan exotic Empyrean Bellicose. Buffing this talent could get out of hand pretty quick at high levels of play.
