It's definitely not cheap. Not only is it unimpressive as a tactic in the overall scheme of things, but it's easily punished when the player is particularly bad, so I can't see how it's cheap. They're probably only butthurt because they have no idea how to punish you because most of these terrible ass players can't do more than run straight at you with a shotgun anyway.
