*DISCLAIMER* -Long post *RULES* -Be polite -No negativity -Please try to comment on why you picked Yes, No, or 50/50 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *IF YOU DECIDE TO COMMENT PLEASE UP VOTE THIS THREAD SO WE HAVE A BETTER CHANCE AT GETTING BUNGIES ATTENTION ON THIS FEEDBACK ON HOW PLAYERS FEEL* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I want us to have a serious mature conversation. For once let's talk about where this game is going without starting a flame war, trolling, or bashing the game just because you/we feel like it's unfair. I would like you guys to try your best to judge Destiny's strong points and it's weak points. That being said I want us to TRY to be as UNBIASED as possible when giving our opinions. I know that'll be hard for certain topics and Veterans who've been playing since beta/day one but just try. Last but not least please up vote this thread so we can get some true feedback to Bungie. I feel the reason we get aggrivated at this game is because we want it to succeed so bad but every time we take a step forward we seem to also take a step back. I've been playing Destiny since beta like many others so I'd like to share my opinions and experiences with you guys as well as what we can do to make it better. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ☆REPLAYABILITY/ENDGAME/FIRETEAMS Overall if you play this game solo I feel like it's a lot emptier. It's much better with friends. Destiny is so much fun in the beginning when everything is shiny and new but when you finish everything the story missions have to offer (in 26-30 hours) it becomes bland quickly.
Even worse is if a new player starts with TTK they can earn an item called Spark of Light early on. If they use it,(You earn it by beating first quest on the moon then talking to the Speaker after.) it will insta-level them to level 25, grant them access to the taken king questline instantly, and give them equipment far more superior than any of the rewards you'd recive playing the vanilla missions. It makes the whole experience feel less rewarding.
With only few ways to level up your favorite equipment AND still be the max/neccasary light level for activities, it's easy to say our current way of leveling up our gear is excruciatingly time consuming. It doesn't help that with this newest dlc some Strikes and Raids were left behind without any incentive for completing them other than nostalgia and certain quest line steps. Our endgame right now feels the same as it did in the very beginning all because we didn't bring old content forward with us. I'm okay with year one weapons staying in year one, but I would like to see year two rewards added to the loot table in the year one Raids and Strikes! It would give an incentive to go back and replay them. I also feel like we need a better way to recruit and communicate with other guardians in game. Matchmaking and voice chat alleviates some of the stress but voice chat and matchmaking aren't always available depending on what activity you play. That being said matchmaking should be optional for each game mode. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ☆PVP/PVE WEAPON BALANCE Keep in mind these are just my opinions. As far as Weapon balance, I don't understand the first thing about fine tuning the numbers for competitive play. I do however know when a new meta comes into play and I do know when some weapon types have clear advantages over others. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *PVP* Some ideas I had for balancing PvP was that we could try swapping some Primary and Special weapon types. Lets try putting Shotguns and Snipers in our Primary slots and put Hand Cannons in our Special slots. Or have less special ammo on maps. But then it hit me. I personally think the biggest problem with Weapon Balancing in our PvP community is us. We all have a certain way we like to play/think how the game should be played and it destroys our weapon balance. When Auto rifles were on top, people who didn't like them or know how to use them thought they were stronger than their weapons type of choice. They felt like it was unfair to be forced to use a weapon type that was uncomfortable to use for them, just to stay competive. Then the same thing happened with fusion rifles. The range was so much it left Snipers, Scouts, and Shotguns in a bad place. So Fusions and ARs were nerfed. Doing so left Hand Cannon users unchecked. So in the next update they gave a slight AR buff, a noticeable Pulse buff, and a hard HC nerf. With Pulses running rampant now, Scouts had a hard time killing at the ranges they were supposed to be effective at. This was because HC's were supposed to be keeping Pulse's in check at Mid range. Admittedly HC's were too effective, as they were able to outsnipe Snipers so the nerf was needed. With Pulses being the most versatile, accurate, and having the least amount of damage drop off for a Primary at the time, Snipers were having trouble keeping PR's in check due to them having a faster rate of fire, decent impact, and range. A bunch of Sniper users got tired of this happening and sought a different way to combat PR's. Enter the Shotgun Era. So the only thing left to keep Pulses in check were a handful of high rate of fire Snipers, some Scouts, and a technique using versatile movement and a one shot kill. Otherwise known as Blink Shotgunning. But now nothing could keep the Shotguns in check because the one gun that could at Mid/Close range (Fusions) was nerfed in the ground and the gun that kept them far away (Snipers) were being hassled by PR's or they were the same people who switched to shotguns to combat PR's! But shotguns had too much range. So we nerfed Blink. Then we nerfed Shotguns. Then we took away a perk from Shotguns. Then we nerfed Shotgun range some more. Now we are here current day where everyone is packing a sniper. And it seems that the only real thing keeping snipers in check now are other snipers. Do you see the pattern that's happening? My point is we need to start from scratch and try again without letting our biased opinions towards our favorite and most hated weapon types get in the way and giving honest feed back based on balance and nor what's more comfortable for us to use. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *PVE* As far as PvE goes I never really noticed weapons being to OP (Besides Ghorn) or excessively weak (Besides Necrochasm at the time) but that's just me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ☆SUBCLASS BALANCING I honestly would like to see what happened to the Titan happen to all the subclasses. I feel like they should all be rebalanced and fined tuned since our new subs disturbed that balance. Just my opinion. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ☆EVENTS/DLC/MICRO TRANSACTIONS I love the events we have been having in the tower. Hell we were begging for some PvE events. From what I understand they are able to fund these events due to recently introducing micro transactions. And as much as I love the events I don't want them to replace dlc. I don't mind the micro's. Just so long as it stays cosmetic and doesn't become a "20 strange coins for 1000 silver!/320 armor and exotics for 2800 silver!" pay to win. I do feel like it's messed up that you use Rng for your cosmetics though. Getting people to blow $50 trying to get a blue skull? Or taking away the old emotes and making it a mystery grab bag that gives people paying money a "High chance of getting an emote they don't already have?" That means there is a small chance you could pay for something you already owned! That's a little messed up I feel. It's borderline gambling and can be unhealthy for some players. If they spend money you should guarantee they'll get a special mask or guarantee an emote they don't already have. Once again. My opinion. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ☆COMMUNICATION I get it Bungie always says they're listening and for the most part they do, but I'd like them to start talking more also. Sometimes I feel like they really are listening. A lot of things we asked for have happened (sparrow racing) but when it comes to things where the whole community is in a unanimous vote on something they want, like bringing back old raids and strikes, it just seems like our voices fall on deaf ears. Why does it seem that way? Because ultimately it's their game and they can do what they want but they also wanna keep us playing and happy. So we do have some say in what goes on because they wanna keep their players. A good example is when almost all of us didn't want Atheon to randomly teleport us. Deej himself told us he tried to do something about it, and he made sure we were heard, but the dev team was going to do it anyway. As sad as that news was it was the only time I can recall that we were given the honest truth about something instead of getting some roundabout answer. So that day we learned Bungie will ultimately do what they want with Destiny (to an extent) but at least we got an honest response from Deej. If he starts doing that again, I feel like it's a step in the right direction. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TL;DR: Do you like the direction destiny is going in and how can we make it better?Share your opinions and answer the poll so we can get Bungie honest feedback to help better the game. Discuss.

YES, I like the way it's going. Here's the why. PVP: You said it yourself:
I personally think the biggest problem with Weapon Balancing in our PvP community is us
I don't have an issue with the weapon patches, honestly I don't. In fact, I barely notice them. The "meta" seems more like a psychological phenomenon to me, as everyone uses what "everyone is using". I find the new game modes exciting and entertaining, and I like Lord Shaxx's bounties as they give me a shot at unique gear without having to go into the Trials (which I'm not a big fan of). Sparrow Racing has been a great break (although I've detected a certain pattern, where one rider breaks out in front and the other 5 compete viciously for 2nd place). Those who are spending tons of silver on $1 bags hoping to get a Sparrow are just being fools to themselves, when they could buy the $5 kit and get one guaranteed- just as they could have bought the bag at Halloween which contained a guaranteed skull mask. If you're going to play it cheap and gamble, you have a chance of not getting what you want. That's your choice. I don't blame Bungie for allowing suckers to be suckers. PvE: I enjoy the new strikes, and I don't really miss Phogoth or the Nexis Mind (two of the most cheese-able strikes ever created); nor do I much miss hearing "A cell! From the Prison of Elders!!" Communication: I don't need Bungie to tell me much. And while I'm sure they read what we write, they're wise not to give us more than 5% of what we ask for. Atheon randomly teleporting people was a good example of the game improving, not getting worse- even if "the community" didn't want it. One of the reasons the Crota raid was despised was because it had a specialist role, the sword-runner; and it was possible to do the raid hundreds of times without ever learning that role. I've done it myself. But you can't run VoG without knowing how to kill Oracles as well as how to open the Gates. You have to be a better player to run VoG. That's why the Sisters part of the Oryx raid is one of the best parts, in my opinion; the fact that anyone can become torn, at any time, and become the relic runner, means that every member of the raid team must be skilled at running the platforms and using the relic, as well as using the Aura afterward. I almost could wish that this continued through to the Oryx segment; but then nobody would run the raid. We now have "Relic runners" just as we had sword-runners for Crota. And the longer it goes on, the less chance that I'll do it, because people are more focused on completing the raid as opposed to letting the noob get a new experience. Unless the game forces them to do so. TL:DR; I think it's getting better and better. I can't wait for what's next.

    • 50/50 Free events are cool but not frequent enough in my opinion. Too much content have been left behind and King's Fall is getting old . The chase for level 320 will be soon the only thing left to do in the game.

      • Upgrade all raids to the current levels and upgrade the weapons and armour also. Why, when they said we could choose our armour do they now make it basically that we all look the same again? They said that we could choose how we played the game, and they was red to see how we innovativly solved puzzles. Sometimes these are straight out exploits, but other times, it's just "not the way they wanted us to play" which is cräp. Raid primaries are super hard to get, and having them elemental suits that rarity. Exotic primaries should also be elemental (bad juju was void before launch). Bungie screwed the pooch there.

The timed events provide a change of pace an opportunity for new/different gear. Less options for buying not new story content/progression boosts. Less drip feed, more bulk content up front. With the amount of time I play I don't think I'll tire of the Crucible. Year 2 could be nicer if it was both A & B/ paid DLC and timed events supported by micro transactions. Walk that line. • The main reason I'm staying at all is to max out every subclass (and it's been a slow progress really). If nothing gets better by then, then I'll leave. However, if the guns and armor get buffed/rebuffed for PvE only, both Warlock and Hunter Y1 subclasses are reworked to be better in either PvE or PvP, and more content to the original story is added, then I'll be more than happy to stay. Hell, if any of the three happen then I'll be glad to stay.

i chose NO.... but dont get me wrong i really do enjoy the game, but i am furiously frustrated with it..... PvP community are the result of the nerfing of weapons and supers (RIP TIANS). yet the reason i find it an issue as a PvE player is that the apply the nerfs across the board, i have yet to find a community member cry nerf to weapon in PvE.... bungie need to be able to seperate PvP and PvE.... also the need to stop lying to us, we need to know the direction this game is going in, i dont want events like festival of the lost, cos its not new, its bounties in the same old places, really bungie....sparrow racing is ok i guess, but what next....where do i go when i reach 320....do i have to wait another 9 months for destiny 2 before i get any real character and story progression???? iT kinda sucks, cos it feels like bungie is deliberately telling its community that it has shit all for us and move onto other games, but check back in when destiny 2 releases.... FINALLY FIX THE SHITTY IN GAME LAG.....DEDICATED SERVERS ARE A MUST

        • Ive put alot of time and money into destiny.. i love this game but with the lack of content and lack of honesty, i wont be buying destiny 2 if it is pay to play / subscription based game. with how year one went, and how year 2 is going, destiny 2 will need 100 times the content, customization, places to openly explore and unique events and activities to justify charging a monthly fee just to play. I love destiny... but the greedy bullshit needs to stop.

              • It's been said over the course of the past year and some change, but even now Destiny is a game that is in the midst of an identity crisis. This game was designed to be the first of its kind: a game that plays and feels like an FPS, but has the content and multiplayer experience of an MMO. It's also been said over and over that Destiny is not an MMO (mainly by Bungie). Ultimately, they are failing at delivering a successful game because they are essentially treating a game that's concept and design are geared towards being an MMO as if it were purely an FPS game. They are basically denying a large part of what Destiny is and what it was designed to be. As a whole, Destiny relies far too much on the Director (mission selection screen). Instead of having a world that you actually need to explore to find some of the more nuanced stories and quest lines, they have mission selections that you play over and over again. They also focus too much of their content development on the major characters of the lore and don't spend any time focusing on more of the minor characters. If they took the time to build a story around the minor characters and focused a few missions on each one and the possibly culminated it in a Strike, it would add much more content to the game and would ultimately cultivate the story of the major character that the content is focused around. This content also needs to be something that isn't launched from the Director. It just feels artificial and stupid. Ultimately, I could sit here all day and list out the things Destiny should do to make the game properly relevant, but I'll leave it at this. If they just accept that their game should have the content style of an MMO, I think Destiny would get back on the right track.

              • One thing I do miss is how it seemed more like an adventure in year 1. Everybody had a unique favorite gun or piece of armor, a unique story of their time in the vault of glass or their method in Crotas end, a unique way to grind. Now it just seems like... "You done kings fall" "Yup" "Did you do the one orb method or..." "Yup" Maybe not enough time has passed, but TTK feels kind of like we got a promotion at our job. Sweet new position that's awesome for like a month, but then a month in were like, "bruh, this is HELLA boring and repetitive." But as I said, not enough time has passed. Not enough new content.
