Am I missing something here?
So,
I need relic iron to upgrade my SRL gear and was running one of the chest routes.
Opened 5 chests and all I got was glimmer. Anyone else have this problem?
And while I'm on the topic of chests, why are there no longer any engrams or blueprints contained within?

You can still get blueprints and engrams from chests.
