IDK What Bungie is doing with balance, but it feels like time to kill is all over the place. To the point where 95% of weapons just aren't even an option if you want to compete. Again. MIDA is a gun that allows you to move faster, strafe faster, and can kill very quickly from any range. The aim assist and bullet tracking on top of Third Eye perk make it a very obvious choice for anyone who likes to hang back and head glitch, aim down sights from a safe distance near cover (which seems to be the general theme of The Taken King. Less pushing, more slow paced hardscoping and waiting while staring at the map). But then you have auto rifles, weapons that can ONLY excel from up close, are plagued with inaccuracy and stability issues (lets face it, you aren't landing 8 headshots in a row on a moving target in a laggy game), and even when all goes PERFECTLY, still can't compete with the time to kill on other weapons that don't even have a trade-off. MIDA is just good at everything. Autos are SUPPOSED to be good at ONE thing, and aren't. You could give auto rifles 40 damage per headshot and people still wouldn't use them because of their poor accuracy at range. I don't think MIDA needs a nerf so much as Bungie needs to figure out what the hell ups and downs they want from every weapon class. There should be some sort of choice related to game play. CQC map? Range map? Gametype? Etc. Right now it's just MIDA MIDA MIDA MIDA MIDA or Last Word / Sniper. That's PVP right now. Maybe a few people still sporting Hacksaw / PDX45 and shotgunning as their primary, but we're back to another 2-3 overpowered weapon combos. Trials of Osiris is going to be:- Last Word / MIDA / Hacksaw 1k Stare / Conspiracy Theory May as well not even own any other gun in the game, unless you just want to put yourself at a disadvantage.
