well first everyone got a pretty good roll w. Shortgaze from the generic TTK quest line. but secondly it's one of the very few snipers in the game that can kill supered & shielded guardians. you have Stillpiercer, Eirene, Black Spindle, 1000 Yard Stare..that's it. First option can only be used by Hunter's, so that's out of the question for most players because they want a weapon that can be used on any of their classes. Eirene is a gunsmith-only weapon, & the Omolon scopes are pretty widely known for just being really weird, there's nobody I've come across that prefers them over Ambush or Shortgaze. Personally, I didn't even have Eirene until he brought it last time. Black Spindle...really? Why would anybody seriously use this in the Crucible. Scopes are garbage, takes an exotic slot, horrible PvP perks, just bad. Leaves us w. 1000 Yard Stare that everyone who did the basic quest line got... If there was other options that warranted the same benefits I'm sure we'd see variety. But 1000 yard would still be bigger for the simple fact that everyone got one. Anyone who mainly plays Destiny for PvP has extremely small chances in getting another sniper besides the quest line 1000 Yard. Making it so every player in that category that wants to snipe will automatically go to that one off the bat.

yup. Sometimes a nerf is warranted, you have to admit. Then there's cases like this where it's all based on outside factors that have nothing to do with the gun itself. People get killed by it more often, not because it's OP but because it was hyped up the wazoo.
