i'm from Australia.
Having weapons are stupid and is one of the dumbest ideas brought to America but Americans who give up their guns.
So Instead of getting rid of all guns (because you guys hate that)
Get rid of Semi-auto, Full-auto and only use single shot weapons aka hunting rifles and pistols.
That is all anyone needs to defend themselves.

i just heard today on Australian news, Americans have had 352 mass shootings THIS YEAR. Australia has not had a mass shooting since 1980. If you count 2 people dead as mass then last year. The Paris attacks were out of the Parisian's hand. These mass shootings have occurred from American hands not Terrorists and yes maybe you're point of someone having a gun may have saved them. BUT leave it only to SECURITY AND PROFESSIONALS.

Heroine, cocaine, meth, ect is illegal. We can all agree to this point, yes? So because it is illegal, there must not be any drug problems in any prohibition countries, right? I mean logically..... Logically making something illegal/banning as a way of removing crime is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. If someone wants a class 3 full auto or a single shot .22 to commit a crime they will get it. Legality bears no merit. What about the mass stabbings (chinese subway) or the us movie theater attack where the guy attacked movi goers with a hatchet? I guess we should ban kitchen knives and hatchets too..... All you do in that instance is disarm the legal, responsible gun owners and leave them defenseless.

There is a big difference between Australian and American government systems. We in Australia have an intricate series of checks and balances, such as the manner in which courts work with legislation and the separation of power between the government, executive office and the judiciary that prevent the people from ever being opressed by the government. You have the right to bear arms to achieve the same effect. Personally i prefer our system as it does not have the massive gun crime side effects.

Actually obtaining and owning a class 3 full auto is easy enough, provided you have a large ammount of cash and the patience of a monk. Paperwork and federal background checks are a pain. That is why I build my own. The beauty of a type 7 ffl/sot.

If you think about the historical origin of the amendment then you can see why it was put in there, but really the only way to regulate guns would be to stop them from being introduced in the first place.
