What the hell are you whining about?
Destiny is a great, unique game even with all of its flaws.
I do not understand how people try to justify their complaints on how Bungie decides to price and sell their intellectual property.
If you do not like how bungie has done it, then go -blam!-ing make your own video game;)

Suck more cock. I think you are low on sodium.

Put it this way. You purchase a car and when you pick it up the back seats are missing, the tail lights are missing and none of the windows work. You ask why this happened and they say "We will let you purchase the missing items in a few months time". You figure the car is still drivable so you just go with it. You then proceed to purchase the missing items when the company releases them to you periodically. A year later you get a call to say that they are taking the gearbox, the rear wheels, the CD player and the headlights. You ask why and they say "We feel these things don't fit our vision for the car". This time your pissed off but you go with it and make it work somehow. Three months later you get a call to say that you can have the missing parts back and you will finally get the complete car you had purchased right at the start. You also have the option to pay extra for some flashy new car mats for the interior if you so desire. They will continue to make different stylish car mats for a fixed price of you ever feel the need to change them again. Sounds pretty stupid? Can you see why the community is pissed off?

Agreed

This generation is -blam!-ed up. You do realize that WE are losing right? Do you not want to get the most out of your dollar? Do you not want to feel like your money is being well spent? We are giving OUR well earned money (or your parents I guess) to bungie for a product in return. You better be damned sure I get what I payed for.
-
From a business stand point. They are doing their share holders right. That doesn't make is taste any better but that is how it works. From Activision's view. Why leave money on the table? You can milk a ton of cash from piece mealing us the game. Value added content for a small cost. If you own stock. Your loving this business model. I do not own stock but i have personally invested maybe 140 dollars into this game. Played maybe 700 hours. Pretty good return on my investment. Does the grind suck? Yes Is PvP marginal at best? Yes Does the loot system leave alot to be desired? Sure does But we still play it for the slim chance of getting that gun or gear we so desire, which is what bungie wants. Sure, people will quit and leave for other games. That would happen regardless of anything they did or would have done. Todays society is all about the new and cool. Destiny had its time for that. Now other games are attempting to lure our dollars for their game, some have been successful and other wont.

Go make your own video game, you sound like a bitter contestant when the judge tells them they can't sing, then the contestant says 'you couldn't do any better' well no shit Shirley, I'm a judge here to judge your performance, complaining about something doesn't make you a hater it makes things better, get a grip op you're slipping
-
They made us a video game, took out 80% of the smart and cool story so stupid jocks (that I'm assuming are not too different from you) that are just in it for PvP would play the game, broke the game's remaining story, and made everyone stupid enough to play since day one dish out $150+ before the second year. You, and everyone else paid $150 for an iota of what we should have gotten. We're all idiots, just leave it at that.

A year ago maybe. Now it's mostly where it should have been at day one. (Not counting the original story being cut and scrapped of course)
-
Play destiny. Get bored. Moan That content is cut and that bungie is after are wallets. Buy next expansion. Repeat.
-
I'm with you. I don't get it why so many people were/have been up in arms about the lack of content. Meanwhile these same people shell out all kinds of dough in games like call of duty, battlefront, bioshock... Remember when portal 2 came out? I paid full price $60 for it at a midnight release. Beat it the same day. $60!!! Now, yes of course vanilla destiny was not as grand of a game as say fallout new Vegas or Skyrim, but it all boils down (at least it should) to how much fun you had with the game. Even though I've purchased all dlcs, I still have an immense amount of pleasure while playing.

Edited by ThargorDraconis: 11/28/2015 4:39:57 PMI can only imagine that everyone complaining are kids. (activate cranky old man mode): back in my day we went to the arcade and fed quarters into video games. One quarter, three lives, and unless you were good you never got to see all the content. You kids don't know what cut content is with your fancy Xbox machines that you don't have to feed quarters into, your infinite lives, respawning at a checkpoint instead of having to start over, permanent weapon upgrades that don't reset every single time you die. You kids have it easy nowadays. And yes, I did walk to school in the snow uphill both ways.

Edited by BERSEKAEL: 11/28/2015 8:24:46 PMThe real issue is... What they promised vs what the game really is (plus its price... if you dont buy next dlc you are locked out). Edit. If destiny was a $29 game, no need for dlcs, I would be happy, besides I got the game, season pass and TTK, and the number is huge. I have done everything doable in this game (my grimoire) and honestly is way overpriced.
-
Has anyone here played battlefront? Lack of content
-
The problem is bungie and Activision flat out lied to everyone about this game. I'm not going to explain it all to you. Go look it up and watch all the vids.
-
Quality of the content is great for me. ~TheGreatNike
-
EXACTLY. Idc if it's cut. I'm ready to pay $40 for my next chapter of cut content now.
-
Exactly. Don't like it? Then shut up, go away and make your own damn game if it'll please you. Although considering more than half of the gaming community is now filled with angry 12 year olds who can't tie thier shoes let alone comprehend this post, I bet making a game is about as easy as solving the Riemann hypothesis for them (look it up).
-
I love destiny but it's the only game I've ever had where dlc has wiped out anything good you have. So the weakest enemy you can face will give you better items than you have collected over the entire previous year and hundreds of hours play.....
-
Complaining about cut content is soooo 2014.
-
I don't think that a lot of younger people have learned to manage their expectations. That's the main reason so many are disappointed in this game. If you came into Destiny knowing nothing other than the fact that they made interesting commercials to sell it, then you take it for what it is. And a first of its kind, amazing new experience, is exactly what Destiny is. I think the people that are so disappointed are the people that expect to play a game for 3+ hours a day everyday and think the content will never end. You need to be realistic.
-
Edited by milesi564: 11/28/2015 2:38:04 PMI think cod is cut content. Most of that should be part of the original price. No one complains about that. It's just destiny people complain about
-
Because you're looking at the situation like an adult, rather than a spoiled, and entitled child. You understand that Bungie is a business that has a right to make money selling the fruits of their labor. You aren't looking at it as if the world OWES you entertainment, and that videogames are some sort of public utility.
-
Because everyone wants the thing they want, if they don't get it or someone else gets it, then the game is automatically shit- gamers logic :)

Edited by FPSTrollestia: 11/27/2015 7:42:06 PMEveryone who hates bungie/Activision brings up the "cut content" theories. When even multiple articles have come out to say that the game was changed. What happens to a game that changes? Oh right it changes everything they wanted to change, including the story. "But at x:xx the trailer shows "yyyy" and that means it should be in game!" Trailer videos are prescripted events to showcase what the creators want you to see, but May not actually in game. "But the seraphim vault you could glitch into! And the ultra captain!" Rendered areas doesn't mean finished areas. Even if populated like the ultra captain, still doesn't necessarily mean it's finished, there was no purpose to the ultra captain. "But the original story had the dread naught! So it should of been in game too!" Yeah because the story orignally had us going there! You're totally right /sarcasm. Why would there be an area that literally serves no purpose, not even to the story be publicly available that you didn't need to glitch into. When story changes before release, so can in game content. "But dataminers found "xyz" in the game files! Where's my new thunderlords that they showed in trailers! Cut content!!!" As again, things in trailers aren't always in game, and data mining is just that, data mining. Just because an item was datamined doesn't mean it is or going to be available till the content creators make it available. And just because the files are in game doesn't mean they will ever be in game. Just like the consumables that were gonna be sold by a vendor to increase raid drops, those were out dated files that were just there, they decided to go with the three of coins instead. #ByeFelicia Edit: got around to reading all the responses. Hmm, didn't know there were many people who actually have the same views about the game like I have, interesting....
