Refer a Friend is a slap in the face for Year 1 vets, hell even for TTK guardians! If you have played this for months or over a year, the chances of this being a doable quest are very low.
Hey Bungie... How about THANK A VET?
You could support at REAL cause like U.S. veterans.
You could show APPRECIATION for your customers who already bought your game. Twice.
You could do something fun and positive for your fanbase instead of EXPLOITING THEM.
Crazy concept.
EDIT: changed US to U.S. To alleviate confusion.
EDIT: This is not a post trying to stir the pot and create controversy about military or political views. It is just a suggestion for Bungie to use their power/popularity for a noble cause instead of straight money grabs.
People who want to hijack the thread just to spew anti military or anti American BS are missing the point. While it is entertaining to watch them dig their own little (a few huge) holes please leave that stuff at the door.
Thanks for the positive posts.
EDIT: Forget it. A lot of you have just used this as a place to spread your agenda of hate, disrespect and low intelligence. The idea is to use Destiny's popularity for a good cause instead of greed. Most of you can't see past the tiny details:
"Destiny is played in other countries"
"I don't like war, soldiers etc"
Fine come up with something else or just leave then. This was in no way a fully realized plan, it was an idea. People are so up in arms to shoot everything down and keep paying Bungie that they behave like jerks.
Forget I said anything. Enjoy referring a friend and filling Bungie's pockets as their unpaid marketers.
Bye.

Thanks oj for having such a good football career. Its ok that you murdered innocent people behind closed doors because nobody saw. Therefor you are still the impervious football player and class act that you once were.

Edited by Shivani: 11/24/2015 7:22:31 PMThey already gave year 1 vets items, but never enough for the forum posters -.-
-
First of all, they already did thank the Year One vets. Remember that black sparrow, shader and emblem we got? Second of all, this is obviously a promotion aimed at new players who just joined, to try to get them to bring in others. Why does this need to be about military vets? Bungie's not trying to honour anyone here, they're trying to make some money.
-
If you are a veteran and you need to be thanked for your service then you are ghey. How about just do your job and stfu. Signed USMC infantry combat veteran
-
Damn I thought you meant the veteran players from day one... Why the fuck should I be thanking people sent to kill, destroy and rob innocent people's lives, homes and future?
-
lol I bet you were in the Navy huh?
-
At this point I think Bungie is thirsty for attention. Lol
-
I'm in the military, I wouldn't mind some cool shit to be recognized as a veteran. And I've been playing destiny since the beta so yes, I wouldn't mind some cool shit to be recognized as a destiny veteran either. #WhoWouldntMindCoolShit #USAFGUYWANTSCOOLSHIT
You could support at REAL cause like U.S. veterans.
How is this a "cause"?

Sighted and bumped

I support it, if you match their donation Otherwise stfu.

Bumped to the extreme
-
Sounds good. Solid points

You served so I am free to play and for that I thank you and all like you, I was physically unable to enlist, my heart and prayers were with you as they are with our men and my sons now
-
We need more people like you. But unfortunately the world is run by cockbiting -blam!-tards that don't know up from down.

Low grimoire scrub crying
-
incredible how many people come to the forums just to spew hatred and have nothing intelligent to say (not talking about the OP)
-
Oh I thought you were talking about something honoring a military vet then I remembered where I was...
-
No no , do u even destiny ??
-
I've had 3 friends join up since year 1...and now they finally decide to add that crap? Love how they discard what we have done for them over the last year and a half. We made you millions and millions of dollars, and this is the thx we get? Reward those who are new, and crap on the ones who have been since day 1. This only makes my decision to stay away from destiny even greater. I really can't see me buying any more content. I've had my fill of lies and not giving a crap about what truly matters in a game. Bungie HAD a good thing, but completely destroyed it. I've never been so dissapointing about spending money on a game than I have with this game.
-
Stop bloody moaning. Is all them hours of entertainment not enough for you?
-
Good idea
-
I sincerely thank you for your service, but an international company like bungie cannot simply endorse specifically the US military like you say. Bungie tends to avoid taking a political stance in anything, at all, so supporting just US veterans would be preposterous.
-
I served in the military and I find it a little funny some people are taking the post that it's comparing destiny vets to military vets witch is not the case just an example. But I agree bungie should do something for the year one vets of destiny cause they have been there through all the shit the nerfs the patch's the buffs the tweaks and lies that bungie has given us and still stuck around despite it all and all we got was a shader emblem and sparrow for the old guard who te -blam!-ing do

Eh, I usually try not to broadcast my status. I normally don't even take advantage of military discounts or Veteran's Day deals, mostly because I don't like that kind of attention. I also signed up to serve my country, and while I don't mind the occasional "Thank you", I'm certainly not entitled to anything for it. (I'm not saying that Y1/Day 1 Destiny players shouldn't get cool stuff, but make it about the game.) All-in-all, though, thank you for the considerate post. :)
