I'm rubbish at sniping, I'm seeing people mention "aim assist", do all snipers have it? Some more than others?
- could you guys please reccomend me a sniper to git gud with ;)
I have most of the notable snipers I'v e seen mentioned btw (Black Spindle/1000 yrd/Eirrine/still piercer/hereafter/NLB plus other legendary ones) which of these should I start to practice with??
BTW - I'm obviously talking about in PvP as even I can deal with them on the Raid

4 RepliesHere's a brief list of Do's and Don'ts Do's of sniping: -keep the crosshairs at head level -scope in and out frequently to look at radar -find a comfortable sensitivity -strafe and move crosshair for quick adjustments -do not jump shot unless wearing nighthawk -go for bodyshots when opponent is weak. Go for headshots otherwise. -conserve ammo. If you bodyshot someone, a primary may be a better option to finish the kill. -move around from place to place -play rumble to develop target acquisition skill -use snapshot, single point, or QuickDraw on high impact snipes. Stability is meaningless. -go for the following perks: unflinching, replenish, casket mag, clown cartridge, life support, firefly. Don'ts of sniping: -stay down sights for a long time -constantly look at the floor -hipfire unless you have take a knee -put yourself in close quarters -hesitate to choose a target I left out the advanced skills... http://youtu.be/JmuIgToxHM0

I'm not the best sniper out there and that's a fact. But another fact in Mt case is that all I do is snipe. My best advice to you would be to practice with NLB. Many people just don't get it but NLB is perfect to learn how to snipe. NLB is my favorite crucible weapon although I don't use it all the time for obvious reasons if I want to compete on a regular basis. Practice and get better with NLB, after that you'll thank me. NLB is not for everyone because you need lots of patience to use and practice but once you get the hang of it you'll fall in love with it. Good luck.

I have the perfect sniper rifle for you. Its the 100yrd stare. with perfect balance , unflinching and hand laid stock. I think. Anyways it is a beast for someone who's not a great sniper. It has maximum stability to the point that where ever you point it at, it stays there. Recoil is almost non existent, so wherever you point at thats where all four shots land. In pvp I can find a nice hiding spot and camp out looking down the scope, soon as someone walks into the crosshairs, bam! a kill. In the raid its great because I can use armor for speed reloading and max capacity and get all critical hits and empty the mags, then pull out a scout to keep doing more damage on a boss.

thanks everyone who replied <3 You were all a massive help.... I didn't know about sensitivity, AT ALL or even that it has an effect on actual shooting :Z

Just use the 1k yd stare

4 RepliesU need 2 quikscope n00bz in Cod and make ur oponets rekt

Whenever you do run pve always equip your sniper. Always aim for critical and don't rush your shots. Slowly but surely you will get better. I would actually advise to use a low to mid aim assist weapon such as the stillpiercer or the eirine. True Vanguard on YouTube has some great sniping tutorials that you can learn from.

Practice in PvE. Think about If you want to use your PvE Sniper for PvP as well, or If you feel better with a different model. I use Eirene for PvE, and defiance of Yasmine in PvP. The Sniper should feel "right". Practice in Control and clash.

5 Replies4 days ago I couldn't snipe in PVP for shit, and now I have a crappy montage http://youtu.be/Lc-PNFfj1dA Find a sniper you like and practice, practice, practice. I used the trials sniper with hidden hand.

Use 3-4 Sensitivity Use low aim assist snipers to start off Remember where head level is Practice.
-
Aim at head height, strafe to adjust horizontal aim rather than moving the stick to adjust aim. Start w that and you'll get 2x better almost instantly.
-
1 ReplyPractice with the hereafter, that's what I did. Slowly move into 1000 yard stare with shortgaze. Put your sensitivity a bit lower. Remember, your running a sniper. Not a shotgun. Treat it as so.

2 Replies1000 yard stare is best start because of wide variety of perks and scopes. The aim assist people cry about has nothing to do with anything( aa causes sticky reticule). Bullet magnetism is what people are technically crying about.
