Deathclaw hunting
So I thought I'd start a thread that lets people give their locations of deathclaws whether it be a location or a story about how you encountered these tyrannical creatures.
Deathclaw hunting is so much fun and they are really well spread out around the commonwealth use this post as almost like a notice board on locations and types of deathclaw you have discovered.
Edit 1: keep the stories and locations coming guys some real interesting ones so far!

A Death claw came into town one day. I was scared. And then it happened; MaMa Murphy jumped up, huffed some jet and and killed it with a pipe gun.. Come to think of it; she did it with one bullet!

Got attacked by 2 in the glowing sea on Hard. Thankfully I had a Gauss Rifle and a few legendary bloatflies came in to help me out

1 ReplyThey're all over the place in the impact crater area. Bring your power armor. I also had one spawn in concord during the museum mission. Not sure if that one is supposed to be there or not but it was a major pain to kill.

Deathclaws are so fun to fight and I have 2 guns thay destroy them my spray and play or my two shot plasma rifle which is like an 8 shot kill it's amazing

While I was heading to parsons insane asylum right when I got there an alpha deathclaw came out of the ground. Many .44 rounds and shotgun shells were unloaded into the beast.

I found some random terminal inside of a shack next to the shore of a pond. I hacked than baby and next thing I know, there are 4 Protectrons rising out of their slumber. Luckily they were friendly. I then proceed to exit the hut a explore the pond a bit. That's when I hear the roar of an Alpha Deathclaw. I catch sight of him and shoot the bastard once, then turn around an run like a bitch. When I turn back around, I see that the Alpha Deathclaw had a broken leg, causing it to limp. Soon after my observation, those 4 Protectrons that i realeased run up to the injured Deathclaw and kill him in literally 2 seconds. "Holy shit," that's what I said when I saw what happened in such a short time. My mouth remained gaped for a while after that. [spoiler]Poor Deathclaw :([/spoiler]

Encountered two deathclaws fighting each other in the street just outside of the glowing sea. Luckily they didn't see me, and I nuked the -blam!- out of them -- so satisfying. Although does anyone else wish deathclaws had better loot? Like uncommon materials or something.

There's one in a shack at the sinkhole in the top middle of the map. It pushed me into the sinkhole when it attacked me lol

Edited by excalibur: 11/22/2015 5:35:51 AMProbably my best moment yet in fallout, 2nd deathclaw. I was in a random bunker, and just got a mini nuke for my fat man. I died to this deathclaw once before so i decided to just nuke him. Most satisfying kill ever. Btw i was level 12 when i did this

I haven't actively hunted them, though I have been extremely surprised by them like twice now. Once while hunting power armor at night, I was just about to get into the suit and I hear a loud thump followed by a roar... Luckily I was in a cage through which I could shoot it repeatedly with a combat shotgun. Another time one attacked me was when I was walking down some train tracks for a quest when a Yao Guai attacked me, so I was working on killing that, when a damn Deathclaw just casually picks me up and screams in my face. Luckily I was in my power armor...

Most of my deathclaw encounters occur soon after discovering numerous dead bodies

7 RepliesLynn woods, top right of the map. There's a siren at the top of the tower that I'm certain will draw out two deathclaws. An alpha and a legendary for me at least.

I've only found 3 so far. The one where you get your first settlers and some power armour, the one at the School of Witchcraft and the one that is at the end of that quest. I wanted to keep that one. I demand a Deathclaw companion mod. The model for them in this game is fantastic.

There is an unmarked location on the left edge of the map with 3 deathclaw a and a bohemeth
