Ditto did a video a while ago where he mentions it gets brought up a lot at the events they hold. Can't exactly remember why they said it's not a priority but if you can find the video you'll have your answer. Something to do with resources versus actual use of private matches which even in competitive games actually only a contribute a tiny percentage of overall usage
