[Novel] True Sangheili (Part 39 available!) ~ 18 December

SCHOLAR, SOLDIER, HERETIC... SAVIOUR. At first, the life of a warrior in the Covenant army seems a noble one. But are the motives behind the war with the humans as innocent as the Sangheili, Sorran, believes? An act of heresy unveils a conspiracy spanning thousands of years, which could bring about the total ruin of the Covenant. Trials of Delphi. Next chapter ETA: Valve Time **** ***** ***** ****** ***** Prologue Edict of the Most High Prophet of Truth, 9th Age of Reclamation. By the authority of the noble Prophets of Truth, Regret, and Mercy. Henceforth, any and all battle worthy Sangheili are to be transferred from any idle posts in High Charity and/or upon any Covenant held world/ship into the active combat. Those amongst the excused are the Honour Guard, the Councillors, and the mentally ill, physically unfit, and the old. Female Sangheili are, as always, prohibited from taking part in any military action. Any Sangheili engaged in a guard post, other than the Honour Guard, will be replaced by the Jiralhanae until such a time as the High Council deems otherwise. Any Jiralhanae in question of where they now stand shall direct all enquiries to Tartarus, Chieftain of the Jirahanae. Failure to adhere to this edict will result in death. No exceptions. These are trying times, my brothers. The Human infidels persist in resisting the might of the Covenant. Rest assured, this 'war' as some are calling it, will be over soon -- to be forgotten and dismissed as an insignificant event in Covenant history. [Edited on 12.17.2012 5:35 PM PST]

I forgot for a moment he was dead, read over it all again the other day and kicked myself. Yeah, never mind that.

 •
Posted by: elites rock Hey OP, starting on the night of the 8th around 11 PM, I started reading your story, I read it every night since then and I finally caught up, your work is very commendable, I under stand you are just 16 as I, but your vocabulary is very large. I enjoy writing and using big words, but I can not even right an epic tale that you have.
Cheers, mate. It seems daunting but it's actually a lot easier than it looks; this started off with the vague premise of two Sangheili becoming brothers - then Ahkrin got involved, then I just had the three of them jaunting around for a while in the army, and then the idea to have Sorran wrapped up in conspiracy came and it just shot off in different directions from there. The only real trouble is time; when I started this I was just 14 with no responsibilities or much at all to do. Now I'm almost 17 and it's the complete opposite. But it's definitely been an experience and I'd recommend anyone who wants to write do so, even if it's just a few words scribbled down. That's how I started. Nice to see all these new readers come out of the woodwork, nothing makes a writer happier than to know their work is being enjoyed. [Edited on 04.10.2012 7:53 AM PDT]

 • Is it okay if I print this off on word? I have a tough time concentrating on reading while on the computer. When I read fan-fic, it is difficult as I have to keep my low attention-span intact. Respond soon, I read a little and it looks great! I promise not to reproduce or anything, but if it's good, I have a friend who likes fan-fic... although that might take a bit of ink and paper... mabey one section at a time. •
Posted by: SEAL Sniper 9 Wolverfrog, I'm not criticizing you. But, you really shouldn't waste your time writing fanfic when you can be writing a substantial novel that many people beyond the depths of b.net will enjoy. I'm not saying that your fanfics are bad. Far from it. They're great. But, you really should be spending your time writing something original. Being hooked on fanfic for too long will make it harder for you to write something original, anyway.
Thanks, but I'm doing fine. I regularly turn my hand to short stories, of which I've written a fair few. I barely consider True Sangheili fan fiction, in all honesty. Halo's just the foundation for the story; the plot, characters and virtually everything would work just as well in an original novel with the smallest bit of tweaking. I'm still in education and still learning; I've got years and years ahead of me, and right now my priorities are largely those of a sixteen year old finding direction in life amid all the distractions that come with this age, and not of a grounded man seeking fame, fortune and artistic praise in writing. When I'm ready, have the time and the motivation, I'll probably write something original; I have a trove of ideas sitting on my hard-drive, and they'll keep awhile longer. I appreciate your sentiment, but don't presume to know me or tell me what to do. I am not 'hooked' on fan-fic, and were it not for the people who enjoy this story or the fact that I strive to see through to the end what I started, I would have moved on long ago. This is just a medium for improvement and quick expression. I haven't expressed actual interest in Halo's universe for a long time, no matter how hard I've tried to rekindle said interest. I see this novel as a novel, and nothing else. It's fan fiction, but there's little fanaticism involved. * Next chapter's coming along despite all the revision and other goings on right now. I don't think the wait will be quite two months, but you never know with me.

 • I came on here, so your link to Insurrection...I didn't recognize you or it at first. I read the prologue, caught the back story, checked your name again... SWEET -blam!- JESUS IT'S YOU. Now I've got another story of yours to read...it was Insurrection that made me come onto this site in the first place, now I've got something to keep me besides the idiocy of the flood. I also found my first post again, from...what was it, 1 year ago? Something like that. [Edited on 03.28.2012 4:30 PM PDT]
