HM Raid Loot!
Hey Bungie (or more knowledgeable Guardians),
So tomorrow is the weekly reset and I want to do the raid one more time for my storyline completion. However, the HM comes out on Friday. If I knock out a normal raid tomorrow, will I be kept from the getting the full benefit of HM gear and loot chests on Friday?

if it's anything like it has been in the past, HM and normal will be separate drops so long as you do normal first. HM should count for both normal and hard drops.

They better be separate loot tables. I need some way to get pieces for infusion. Hell I haven't even beat oryx once yet.

1 ReplyHonestly just wait for hard mode better drops and if you wait you'll get double the drops but if you do normal you won't but if you do hard mode all drops are between 310-330 light and normal is 300-310

3 RepliesLoot tables for the raids aren't shared, so go right ahead and dive into Normal Mode one more time before Friday! On the same coin here, if you go through Hard Mode -before- doing Normal, you'll get drops from both settings in one run. ...Providing Bungie doesn't change the way this raid functions. VoG and CE give you that luxury.

26 RepliesIf you do normal then hard mode you get half the drops when you complete hard mode. If you only do hard mode And not normal you will get more drops.

They will most likely follow VoG and CE for rewards. If you complete normal, you will get normal mode items. If you then beat hard on the same character, you will get hard mode items. If you skip normal and do just hard mode, you will get double drops of hard mode items. If you then ho back and do a normal after hard, you will not het any raid items. Chests will be shared between both (meaning only once per character per week)

Probably run normal on two of my toons. Not convinced I'll be able to pull of 3 hards in the three days before reset using LFG.

Since the gear will be different light levels I don't think it will affect your drop chances if you do normal first.

Thanks to everyone for your insight. I'll run the raid tomorrow, then Friday then we shall have the answer we seek. Glad to know that we all... don't really know :)

3 RepliesFor the vault of glass there were certain things you could only get on hard mode and if you did normal first and then hard mode, hard mode drops is all you get the second time around. Unless you missed a chest or something in the normal mode.

I plan on doing two raids tomorrow and save my main for Saturday.
