I think Bungie should create their own form of digital currency, or Bungie Points if you will. Bungie could charge Bungie Points for content offered on Bungie.net for prices that deceive members into thinking they are getting a good deal. We could buy these Bungie Points using credit cards in increments of 400 Bungie Points for $5, to 4,000 Bungie Points for $50.
We could then redeem these Bungie Points for content sold at odd prices that will leave us with some random amount of Bungie Points that isn't significant enough to purchase anything else. We will then want to add more Bungie Points, but we can't add only the amount of Bungie Points we need, so we have to spend more money and have too many Bungie Points for the content we intend to purchase.
This will leave us with another odd amount of Bungie Points with which we can purchase nothing, and the cycle repeats.
We'll start to see phishing accounts set up to advertise "1600 Bungie Points Can Be Yours Free," and folks will offer to "Boost Your Account to Exalted Mythic for 800 Bungie Points."
I can imagine no better system for currency exchange. I don't know where I got the idea, but any organization that would implement a system like this really cares about quality customer service, and would never be secretly plotting to rip off as many loyal customers as possible.
The profit gained by implementing this deceitful system of trade could certainly help the Bungie crew on their way to world domination, but last I checked they hadn't yet formed an evil corporation the likes of which would go through with such a system.

Thank you. Just, thank you. I laughed the hardest I've ever laughed on Bnet right here.

This will help spur the economy. At least Bungie's.
Posted by: RdOG1507 Sounds like Microsoft Points! >:(
What are these Microsoft points everyone's talking about? It sounds like they're trying to cash in off of Bungie's idea. . .

Sounds like Microsoft Points! >:(

What an absolutely great and wonderful idea this should be implemented immediately!

Hah! I wish I had read this yesterday. Fantastic idea.
Posted by: robby118
Posted by: borrowedchief They should have us do odd jobs around the site to earn points. Like getting an allowance.
That nav bar could use a bit of a shine. And that search bar looks a tad dusty.
You two are on to something with that.
Posted by: furiocity Why not also include Bungie Pro subscription cards as well, they would come in 1 month, 3 month, and 12 month increments. They would also force the user to pay an extra fee to use the internet, which they already pay for. It's brilliant!
Posted by: canman88 I would've spent 100 Bungie Points just to post in this thread.

I'd subscribe, I'm on Bungie.net participating in discussions far more often than playing games on Xbox Live. It's highly unlikely we'd start to get charged for the Bungie.net experience as we know it. Essentially, the benefits justify the cost. This sounds brilliant. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?

If you are paying your hard-earned money, for them, we want to make sure you get your money's worth. Check that; your Bungie points' worth.
Like shares? Wait... I'd actually like this idea. I'd much rather be decieved into giving Bungie, a smaller company, my money than Microsoft, a larger company.
-
Great idea, I wouldn't mind spending some money on things that are worth it, let alone stupid things that Xbox Live has, like Gamerpics and what not. (No offense Bungie).
Posted by: DieByMyHand To access the Bungie Blog, members would have to pay 160BP.
Posted by: Spartan_Natraps Obviously. Bungie has a serious problem. They aren't very good at being -blam!-s. I mean, they should take some tips from Microsoft. Please pardon me.. I'm trying to start to enjoy this joke. I know I should find this funny but I don't.
Whoa, no one said anything about M$. Where's that coming from? ;) Several folks haven't appreciated the humor, and that's understandable, it's not the funniest thing. It's sad really. I was simply posting this to inspire the Community to ponder the irony of it all. Many members can relate to how I'm feeling about the subject while others remain unaffected. Bungie doesn't have to scam their fans to earn money. They earn it by creating software for which we'll pay because we truly enjoy it. In fact, if a system like this was implemented, I'd gladly pay to experience all that Bungie makes available to us, and I'm clearly not alone. By no means was Bungie Points a serious suggestion, but you all already knew that, right?
